Pollos Al Carbon Doña Lola — Restaurant in Weslaco

I called yesterday, Sunday 04/10/22 and asked if they had any family packets that included half a chicken and sides. The First Lady that answered me didn’t understand what I wanted nor did she try to help me so she completely cut me off and transferred me. The second lady was very rude as well. She started listing everything on the menu without even asking us for how many people or what we were looking for. I couldn’t even get a word in because she was just talking and talking without listening. After repeating ourselves many times and asked for her to repeat the order she forgot to add the potatoes so we said to include potatoes once again. Once receiving our food we told the gentleman attending us that the ladies on the phone were very rude and disrespectful to which he said “yes, I heard everything but they’re just like that.” He was very polite, but those two ladies need to learn some manners and human etiquette. Also, the potato side we asked for was only half filled up (she charged us full price) and there was the tiniest amount of cheeses on the “quesadillas.” NEVER...

I had a hankering for grilled chicken and we took a leap of faith going to this restaurant based on the good reviews I had read.

I am so glad we went to this restaurant. We bought a combination meal of chicken meat and sausage, it came with mashed potatoes, beans, grilled peppers and onions, some chips and some spicy sauces. I added an extra quesadilla and I think the total bill came to less than $20.00. We did not have to wait long for the food. We had ordered take out, it weighed a ton.

Everything we bought had a super flavor, the chicken was falling of the bone and the meat meat was very tender, the beans had an exceptional flavor, everything was really good and tasty. We had enough food for at least two meals. I would...

We had been to wanting to try this place for awhile and finally did so today. The price was good for the huge amount of food we got. The food was very tasty. I worried about all the reviews I read about the service but we had a very pleasant experience. I also worried about the reviews about this place ripping off the customers when you pay, I am going to be watchful for the next few days in my bank account about this but the girl that took our payment didn’t give me that type of uneasy feeling like she was going to steal from us.
