84th Classic Cafe — Restaurant in West Allis

Wanted to try somewhere new, so decided to stop in, and soon regretted it. The salad was nice and fresh, though there was little dressing, and the garlic bread was ok though I could’ve made better at home… but the spaghetti was a huge disappointment. It didn’t have much flavor, it was mushy and overcooked just like the slightly off tasting chunky sauce, and the grease splatter (meat clearly not drained or rinsed before added to sauce) all around the plate that was off-putting. my stomach is still bothering me from the food, and I couldn’t even finish it. My partner’s meal was equally tasteless and overcooked. Also, the waitress (an older lady with very short hair) seemed nice enough at first despite giving me the wrong drink, but was very off putting when she seemed to rush us out of the restaurant. While we were still eating, she came over to the table and said she was leaving soon and wanted us to pay right away. A bit rude, but whatever. Then my meal came with dessert so she brought it out boxed and bagged, no matter if I would’ve wanted it there. Then she came over a couple times after that to make sure my partner had his card and signed the bill, then said she could box the rest of the meal for him while he was still eating. Very offputting. My wife and I decided to try this place because we haven’t been here since it was Johnny V’s…

Bad idea, apparently. I ordered the Dagwood burger, medium. I got well done with virtually zero seasoning. Burger had next to zero flavor. My fries were also overcooked with zero seasoning. Very brown and firm.

Wife ordered spaghetti and she said it was terrible. Pasta was overcooked and mushy. Sauce tasted overcooked too and it was greasy, like they didn’t drain the meat after cooking it. She got an upset stomach from the food.

To top it off, our waitress was nice, but clearly in a hurry, which came off as rude as we were finishing our food. She walked up the table while my hands were full of grease from the burger and said “you want to take care of the bill? I’m leaving soon. Wanna pay the bill??” She also repeatedly asked if we wanted boxes while we were clearly still eating. She was clearly in a huge rush and wanted her tip….

Needless to say, we won’t be returning…

Walking in was confusing, no one greeted you. Know one said they would be right with us. Then the server and the host/owner argued about whose turn it was to get a table, while we awkwardly stood there. Tables were so close together that you could reach out and touch someone that you didn't even know. The server was buddy buddy with the customers that were next to us. We order drinks. The Pepsi taste like it expired in the 90s. The burger had the taste and consistency of tofu and was under cooked and mushy. The motz sticks were pretty good. The service was seriously lacking. The server complained to her buddy's next to us about all of he other employees especially the Hispanic man that was cooking. She provided excellent service to her buddies and treated us like we barely existed. We felt slightly uncomfortable that she was so openly talking bad about Hispanic people when one person in our party was Hispanic. Needless to say we didn't finish our food and will never return. The place needs to be on an episode of Gordon Ramsay...
