I recently had the pleasure of stumbling upon a small corner bar in West Allis, WI, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight. This unassuming bar, with its unpretentious ambiance, turned out to be a haven for burger enthusiasts like myself. From the moment we stepped inside, it was evident that we had discovered something special. We decided to try their renowned build-your-own burgers, and boy, were we blown away! We opted for the double patty, and when those burgers arrived at our table, our taste buds went into overdrive. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, these were hands down the best burgers we've had in ages. It's clear that the chefs at this corner bar take great pride in their culinary skills, and their efforts are truly commendable. What made the dining experience even more satisfying were the homemade fries that accompanied our burgers. There was no doubt that these golden, crispy delights were made in-house, as the freshness and quality were unmistakable. To top it off, the seasoning on the fries was perfectly balanced, adding just the right amount of pizzazz. But the wonders didn't stop at food alone; this corner bar's dedication to craft continued with its impressive selection of self-brewed beers and an enticing array of local craft and domestic brews. Pouring their heart into every pint, this establishment truly understands the allure of a well-crafted libation. However, what truly sets this place apart is the warm and friendly atmosphere cultivated by the bartenders and owners. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality and jovial demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to an already delightful dining experience. So, if you find yourself in West Allis and in need of a memorable burger experience, be sure to visit this small corner bar. Its phenomenal burgers are sure to satisfy your cravings, the homemade fries will leave you yearning for more, and their exceptional beers will quench your thirst. Plus, the friendly faces behind the bar will make you feel like family. Take my word for it - this hidden gem deserves your attention.

When I saw Layman Brewing listed in the Milwaukee Magazine for one of the best burgers in the area, AND its a dive brewery, I had to check it out. This place is definitely a really unique brewery given that its in a dive bar. You can see the beer tanks right from the bar/tables. They have small batch beers to choose from, and if you finish the batch, your name goes on the board on their wall! For the food, the burgers were great and the fries were even better! They're homemade and I would go back just for a basket of those fries. Their cheese curds were also delicious. We ordered a pickled egg because if that's listed on the menu we had to try one. We loved the staff. Very down to earth and fun to talk to. We even got complimentary key lime pie shots, which they make in house, and they were so good we ordered another round.

We intended to stop for just one beer to check out one of the few breweries in town we haven’t been to. We ended up staying for multiple beers, trying every brew on the menu, and ordering some food to boot. Very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Super cool for a true “corner bar” to make their own beer. The styles on tap were incredibly unique - everything we tried was good, and half of what we tried was really great. The fries boast to be the “best in West Allis”… admittedly I haven’t tried too many places in the neighborhood but I can say for sure they are the best *I* have had. The bartender realized it was our first time and gave us some free shots and stickers. Before we left I won my first pull tab in my life. Good vibes and a good time overall - we will be back.

Five starts and fantastic! Hubby and I have visited breweries all over the country. We walked into a homey, unpretentious atmosphere with kind patrons and a welcoming experience as first-timers. Brianna is not only a fantastic bartender, but, adds to the overall charm of your local neighborhood spot! Most places you visit today show you a QR code for a menu and don’t offer suggestions; the occupied barstools are just another patron. Not here!! Getting to know us by name along with offering food selections paired with their brews sets this place apart from the rest. The local neighbors welcomed us with friendly and genuine banter! We stayed for hours and loved every minute. The two of us legitimately felt like the locals and wish we were in town longer. Definitely first on the list when we head up that way again!! The owners weren’t there at this visit, but, wanted to ensure they knew how much we loved our time there. Make sure to give Bri huge kudos and tell Thee Sandra she is awesome and hello to the rest of the gang from...

I give them 3 Stars out of 5 Stars. I use to go here all the Time when it was Kokopelli's. I would go here for Taco Tuesdays and Wing Wednesdays. Since it was bought by new owners, some things have changed and not for the better. When it was Kokopelli's, they had small Tacos for $ 1.75 each or a jumbo Taco for $ 5.00 each. They had $ 0.60 Wings on Wednesdays. Now that it is Layman's Brewery, the prices went up on both. Tacos went up to $ 2.50 each... or at least it was before they discontinued Taco Tuesdays. They have 6 Wings for $ 5.95 which is about $ 0.90 to $ 0.95 Wings instead of the $ 0.60 Wings that Kokopelli's had. Even Soda prices went up compared to other bars. You can buy a can of soda for $ 1.00 to $ 1.50 per can at most other bars. They now have Chili Dogs & Chili on Tuesdays. Everybody who knows me knows that I give a Honest review of places... especially since I am a Rabbi. The owners Sarah & Kyle seem like nice...
