Oniomania — Local services in West Allis

My MIL highly recommended this place to me because it was a local business and she shopped there a lot. I took a necklace to Dale (a very nice man) to be fixed as the chain was broke. He agreed to fix it, and he called me to let me know when it was done.

So we go in to pick up our necklaces (my MIL also had one that needed fixed, it was an original one of a kind piece) and the woman who also works in the shop with Dale, looked for our necklaces but could not find them... offered no apology whatsoever for the loss of our items. I asked what she was planning to do about this, how this situation would be handled. I mean, they were our items. She rudely responded that I could drive out there and hope to catch dale on a day he’s working. I was shocked. I asked if she could have him call us when they were located. I explained I can’t just drive out a half hour away several times a week in the hopes Dale May be there and that they MAY have found the necklaces. She rudely and I mean RUDELY tells us that isn’t her problem and that we can drive out there! We leave the shop rather upset, without our necklaces, badly treated and no apology or concern shown for the missing items (it’s been over a month at this point they’ve had our jewelry). So I wait. Then Dale does call to let us know that our necklaces have been found. I asked my mother in law to pick mine up when she went to get hers. She agreed. Then when she went to get them, they forgot to put mine in the bag and my MIL didn’t realize till she got home and looked. Pretty annoyed at this point, I send my fiancé to get my necklace. The place has weird hours and said it was opened online but he got there and it was closed. This is now four times we’ve been out there trying to get my necklace.

By the fifth time of trying to go get my jewelry, it’s been almost two months, I messaged the page on Facebook, they said they had my necklace and I could pick it up that day, I was ecstatic. I said I would be in to get it.

I get to Oniomania and walk in and it’s the woman again. I explain to her I’m here for my necklace and she cuts me off while I am speaking, and is like “I know why you’re here.” Which I thought was rude but I didn’t say anything yet.

Then she tells me she can’t find my necklace, which means that they lost it....again.... and at this point I’m pretty annoyed because she goes on a long winded explanation about how my MIL didn’t want to get my necklace and that’s why I didn’t get it last time, which I know is false and how none of this is her fault and at no point in time does she offer any apology whatsoever for all my time they’ve wasted. She keeps going on about how it isn’t her fault and it’s my MILs fault, and frankly I did not want to sit there and Listen to her ranting. I state I am simply here to get my necklace and I don’t care about anything else really I just want to get it and leave because this has been a massive ordeal for me. I’ve now attempted to get it five different times. They’ve lost it twice, it’s been paid for to be fixed, and no one has apologized or offered decent customer service. This woman has the NERVE to interrupt me explaining that I don’t really care who’s “fault” it is and that I just want my necklace to tell me I need to calm down and I was just shocked! She escalated this situation, lied to my face about my mother in law, and then was insanely rude to me to the point I was shaking because I was so angry. I had to wait for dale to drive to the store and get my necklace for me. He apologized and I thanked him for his work and then I left the store quietly without making a scene but still very angry about this woman’s treatment of me. I would not have been so upset if this woman had not been so hostile towards me during the entire process or had lied straight to my face.

Less than a week later I was wearing my necklace and the chain broke. I’m going to give this place one star because Dale was very polite and apologetic for the mishaps that happened. But I do not recommend anyone work with the woman if they go in....

Super cute local shop. It looks so small on the outside but trust me they have it jampacked full of fun stuff on the inside.
