I've been hesitating to write this review for Nico's, simply because it's become one of our new favorite spots, and it seems to be gaining quite the stellar reputation, becoming busier by the day. Let's start with the staff - they're expanding, and each member has been consistently pleasant. However, our preference is always to sit at the bar and be served by Russ. He's not only knowledgeable but excels in creating a consistently positive experience every visit. Now, onto the food - it's simply divine, with the menu continually expanding. Admittedly, we've only sampled the cheese garlic bread and the pizza so far, but they've become our go-to choices. In fact, our current favorite pizza is the pepperoni and pepperoncini, which we've ordered for pickup and dined in with nearly a dozen times since late December. The consistency and quality keep us coming back for more. The homemade sauce is a standout, generously applied atop a perfectly balanced crust that's neither too thin nor too thick. The use of large pepperonis adds an extra layer of flavor that's simply scrumptious. As for the cheese garlic bread, while it's not personally my favorite of all time, but it's still undeniably delicious. Interestingly, we recently introduced it to some friends, and one of them became absolutely obsessed, claiming it's the best they've ever had. They even joked about returning solely for that garlic bread, and have talked about it several times since they had it. Nico's continues to impress with its delightful staff, delectable food, and welcoming ambiance. It's no wonder it's becoming increasingly popular.

We recently decided to stop by Nico’s Pizza on National in West Allis for a Sunday family lunch after frequently passing by and seeing great reviews online. We had to experience it ourselves, and it did not disappoint! We started with a variety of appetizers: Parmesan garlic fries, mozzarella medallions (Italian-breaded mozzarella topped with balsamic glaze, fresh basil, and tomatoes), and cheesy garlic bread. Everything was absolutely delicious! The mozzarella medallions were crispy on the outside, with a savory balance of balsamic and basil, and the garlic bread was the perfect mix of crunch and cheesy goodness. Even our pickiest eaters couldn’t stop raving about each bite and declared it one of the best pizza places they’ve ever tried in Wisconsin. For our main dishes, we ordered two large thin-crust pizzas—one build your own sausage and pepperoni, and the other was their magnificent portobello and sausage. The pizzas were perfectly done with a crispy, satisfying crust. The portobello pizza had a unique flavor with its rich tomato base, thick-sliced mozzarella, and huge, juicy portobello slices, with the basil tying it all together beautifully. Our waitress, Lala, made our experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring everything we needed. The restaurant itself was spacious, with plenty of seating options, and even had a small event space perfect for hosting small gatherings or intimate dinners. Overall, Nico’s is a must-try! It’s hands down one of the best pizza places I’ve been to, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

The food here was excellent! Some cons are it's clearly a new business and looks to be under staffed but our waitress was great and friendly. There was some confusion over our order as they brought us our garlic bread twice and when we paid our bill, we got the correct receipt but on their handheld it brought up an order that was twice as much as ours. They were able to correct it without much of a wait. Over all, we will be back but probably for takeout next time. When we got there we were advised it would be a 50-60 minute wait and that we should have made a reservation. We did try to make a reservation by using the number online but when we called it went directly to voicemail and said the voicemail was not set up so we couldn't leave a message. Despite that, they still were able to get us a table before we could even order a drink at the bar.

ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE. I live just a few blocks from here and decided to finally try it on Saturday Jan 11 2025. Went in at around 4:00. Just wanted a quick pizza. Sat us up high in the last booth right by the pool table. It was dark enough that we actually had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu. I actually said to my wife that we were going to get bad service by the facial expression we got from the waitress when we only ordered a water with lemon and a soda for drinks. Mind you we got a very small drink glass of water ( no lemon if course) and a small glass of soda. Someone besides our waitress brought our pizza out and that was the last we heard from anyone. Ate a slice, waited for a refill so we had something to drink with our meal. After about 10-15 minutes we realized we were forgotten about so my wife went to the servers station and found a box for herself. We boxed up our pizza and waited another 10 minutes until our waitress finally came with our check. She came to the table and apologized and admitted she completely forgot about us. Asked if it was our first time there and then said " I will pay for your drinks". My wife laughed and said "so a $3.50 soda". The waitress then said "FINE..i'll buy your meal". Well we declined that offer because we knew she would have to pay out of pocket. Payed by card and obviously couldn't see the receipt because it was dark. Wife still left a tip to my objection. Got to the car and looked at the receipt and she never even removed the $3.50 for the 4ozs of soda that came in the the glass of ice. Needless to say we were both very disappointed with...
