Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in West Allis

I’ve been to other Caribou locations, but this was my first time at this one. Caribou is a recent addition to the growing number of coffee shops (both chains and independents). This location is drive-thru only with a walk-up window. It’s a cute teal-painted building with a few patio tables outside, but no indoor seating.

I received a friendly greeting from the staff at the window and ordered a Chai Latte. I asked for whole milk, but the only option was half-and-half. I also ordered the White Chocolate Raspberry Scone, which they offered to warm up on a plate.

It didn’t take long to get my order. Since it was a nice day, I sat outside — pleasant enough, aside from the occasional car coming through. The drink was just okay: a bit weak and really could have used more chai mix. The scone was too sweet, with a texture closer to a muffin than a true scone.

Worth a try, but not a spot I’d choose over independent coffee...

They were really slow. There were like 3 cars in front and it took me like ten plus minutes to get coffee . I ordered honey crisp hot coffee HALF sweetner at the drive thru and reiterated the order. When I got to the window, I was asked, "you ordered cold, right?". I reiterated the order. When I tasted the coffee on my way out, it was very sweet. I have never tasted coffee that sweet. It was basically sugar syrup. It was horrible. I wanted to ask for it to be remade but the line had 5-6 cars and knowing how slow they were I decided to leave. I hope Caribou reads this and gives me a refund...

I LOVE Caribou Coffee. I lived in MN for six years and became obsessed with Caribou when I was out there. I moved back home to MKE and was so sad to leave Caribou behind. So when I was driving to Target and saw this location pop up, I was THRILLED! I have never been disappointed with this location. I have gone a few times, and sometimes, sure the line is long, but the coffee is WORTH IT. I always order the decaf hot turtle mocha and it is delicious every single time. They also make yummy kid's hot chocolates that my 6 year old daughter loves. Thanks for such great coffee...
