I drove and admitted myself at 5am 2/14/25 to St. Luke’s aurora hospital on S 27th Street of Oklahoma after waking up to a puddle of blood under me from having a miscarriage(which I previously was seen for January 28 2025 at aurora west allis location, in which they disclosed I denied of abdominal pain which is untrue, it also states that I denied complications in pregnancies which is also untrue because I had experience with DNC after birth and previous miscarriages from doctors leaving placentas in me and/or not properly monitoring my care) . The staff at St Luke’s was fast and efficient with running test and seeing that material was still left in my uterus, the doctor gave me two options which was to either take 4 pills implanted in my vagina or get the procedure which would have to be done at west allis aurora. I stated I would like the procedure because I know my body well and it would disagree with the pain levels of taking the pills as he stated I would heavily bleed and contract and have severe nausea as symptoms. They did discharge me with morphine in my system knowingly that I would be driving myself stating my health wasn’t serious enough to be transferred over to aurora west allis. So as they discharged I had no choice with dizziness and lightheadedness and also still severely bleeding drove my way to aurora west allis. Once I made it to aurora west allis I told them where I came from and all what happened, they put me in a room where I was met with two kind nurses who heard everything and felt for me assuring me I’ll be in good hands. I then was met with my doctor which brought me to become emotionally distressed and stressed because I had my first absolute worst experience ever with MD Eduardo Castro! As I was explaining everything I have been going through the he kept interrupting me and changing my narrative and words around and also going back and forth with me until he made me cry concerned he didn’t care for my health or didn’t want to hear what I know about my health and body I did not feel safe. He then proceeded to tell me that I will not receive the procedure because I am not anemic and my miscarriage was not serious enough to receive it after I stated that I would not take pain well with pill medication, he told me either I would take the pills inserted through my vagina or I would wait out my pains that I’ve already been having complications with since January 28th 2025 and it would be nothing he could do about it. I then gave in to his ultimatum at that point because it was what the doctor says about my body and not what the patient knows about my health and body. I was then greeted by a nurse to help calm my nerves as he seen I started hyperventilating scared for my health he gave me pain medicine once more for my pain, then transferred me to another room where I took more painkillers, morphine, nausea medication at that point I was basically drugged up and was met with another nurse who help me to self insert the medication since I had no other choice. I then explained I was experiencing burning throughout my body, face inflamed, dizziness and lightheaded, itchy hives on my body and face was also itchy. Which didn’t raise any concerns apparently because the nurse stated it was normal. I was then left in the room for a period of time and had to reach out for something to drink as I was dehydrated that didn’t come so I had to wait till my nurse came. I then received discharge papers al whilst still having the symptoms I was talking about so I left at that point as it seemed my health was not a concern to anyone there, I then drove to pick up the high dosage medication they prescribed (in which vomited and I almost passed out in which a pharmacist can attest ) driving myself dizzy, lighted-headed and on a high dosage of pain killers and morphine, managed to hit a curb but I did...
Read moreWhile I understand that the ER, is probably the most stressful dept to work in. I wish my treatment today could have been better. I've been dealing with mastitis lately and it got worse after a day of antibiotics. For the last 3 days I've been in and out of hospitals. I went to urgent care, they provided me antibiotics and said to keep my appt with OB dept tomorrow to reassess. Next day OB suggests a supplement to take to help with the flow. I was instructed if it got worse to come back the next day or go to the ER. This morning I woke up in excruciating pain. A red, hot, angry mass developed on one of my breasts. I was feeling disoriented, confused, found it difficult to stay awake and hard to communicate. When I walked, I felt dizzy, had tingling sensations that ran down my leg, had the chills and could not get warm. I had all of the classic signs of septic shock so as a precaution I went to the ER. It took probably the longest to get a room. Which I understood, but during that time I requested a pump. I was there for hours and my breasts were swollen. When I finally got the pump, that was when I got my room. PA went over the results, good news was I wasn't going through sepsis and they prescibed a liquid antibiotic and the PA said I would be discharged. After that, I looked around my bed and I could not see any outlet attached to my bed to allow me to use their pump. Last time in the ER I had a bed with a outlet extension. So l decided to wait on the nurse to return to have assistance with it. When she came back I asked her if she knew where I can plug the machine and she had a response as if she was annoyed by me asking. She told me, "But you're being discharged. You might as well pump at home. I have your antibiotic." I told her the hospital one is better because it's stronger than mine, but she told me that if I wanted to pump I would have to go elsewhere- I guess some designated room that even she was unsure of. She then proceeded to inject the antibiotic which she stood almost impatiently looking at her watch saying it was going to take 4 minutes. After that, she ripped off the tape and connection that was inserted in my elbow like a masochist saying, "sorry about the tape" but not actually being sorry about it. Blood started to ooze out and then she made a comment about how it was caused by how deep they inserted it. She just made it seem like I was wasting her time and the hospital time by wanting me to leave. She gave me my discharge papers, never asked me about if I felt comfortable leaving or if I had a ride home. Mind you, I could barely walk this morning or pick up my 10 week old daughter. As I'm grabbing my things to leave, she does last minute gesture saying, "I guess you can pump in here if you want to" but at that point I wanted to get away as soon as possible. I did not feel comfortable with her energy. I'm currently dealing with PPD as well and my interaction with her was not pleasant. I followed the instructions of all my providers prior to this and I felt like I still had no answers other than stick it out and don't come back unless I'm dying- even though it felt like I was. Please do better. The nurses in the womens pavilion are so good in compassionate care, there was definitely a stark difference between...
Read moreI took my husband to their ER because he was in such horrible pain, crying, shouting, gripping his head. After About 15 minutes sitting in the lobby, they took us back to a room. Another 10 minutes passed before a doctor came in, and he had such a crappy, uncaring bedside manner, it was like we knew he wasn't listening or caring about his pain, he was just thinking about how inconvenient it was to work on a holiday (Memorial Day), I could see it in his eyes. Then waited another 10 minutes after the doc left until I stuck my head into the hall asking any passerby for help because my husband was literally wailing in pain. A nurse said she'd send in the doctor. Husband was still wailing and hyperventilating, so a few minutes later after it was clear no one was coming, I started repeatedly pressing the nurse call button. The nurse I stopped in the hall came in (probably the one notified when I was pressing the call button) and gave him a shot of tramadol. She said she'd come back in 30 minutes to check on him. 15 minutes go by, he's not doing better. The techs come in to put in the IV line and start blood draws. As they're flushing his IV with saline, the issue he had (major sinus pain) relieved itself. He is still having recurring issues at home without any recommendation or consultation from an ER doctor or nurse. The only good thing that came of it was a referral for an ENT. We've been doing everything possible since then as the issue is still happening. I called a nurse hotline for advice on top of already doing everything, the hotline nurse even said we were doing everything she'd recommend. All we can really do is wait for the ENT appointment. The fact that an ER doctor would rather abandon my husband than give some ideas or help for immediate relief while waiting is so damned frustrating. I was administering better healthcare at home and I'm not a medical professional.
Go somewhere else for care (in general). It used to be called "Aurora Healthcare," then they merged with Advocate Healthcare and changed their name to Advocate Aurora Healthcare. Now they changed it again to Advocate Aurora Health. Notice how they took the "care" out. Because they...
