The Grün Hexe Kitchen + Catering — Restaurant in West Bend

I ate at The Grün Hexe Kitchen and Catering yesterday and had the mushroom risotto which was absolutely perfect creamy rich and full of deep earthy flavors without being overpowering and the texture was spot on I originally couldn't decide between the risotto and the goat cheese polenta so I went with the risotto first just to see how good the restaurant would be and it did not disappoint which is why I had to come back today to try the polenta and I am so glad I did because it was amazing velvety smooth with just the right amount of tangy goat cheese making every bite melt in my mouth and then I had the elderberry hibiscus lemonade which was ridiculously good so refreshing and balanced with a perfect blend of floral and fruity notes and the ambiance of the restaurant made the whole experience even better warm inviting and cozy while still feeling stylish and unique. So if you are in West Bend WI and want thoughtfully crafted delicious food you need to check out The Grün Hexe highly recommended...

I would say this is a decent place to go for lunch, if you are not gluten free. The homemade pasta was a hit with my spouse. And the atmosphere is pleasant and clean. I ordered a gluten free sandwich and what I got would not be considered edible. The bread they used fell apart in my hands like sand and was freezing cold and not toasted. The salad tasted fresh and coffee drinks were nice. I was disappointed in my sandwich that I paid nearly $20 for and I ended up leaving it all untouched on my plate. I feel like a place that offers local could come up with some resource for local sourdough or gluten free bread or gluten friendly wraps using lettuce at the very least. This was absolutely a junk food freezer bread that was not worthy of presenting...

Cool vibes with some kitchy items on display. The owl lamp looked like same one we got as a hideous wedding gift many years ago. The menu offered a number of unique options which made our selections difficult. I settled on the Tuscan Sausage soup which was savory, as was the Mediterranean Chop Salad. My wife had the fresh made Salmon Patty Sandwich which also was very tasty. A sturdier bun would have made it bit better. We shared a slice of Peantbutter Pie which was fluffy and delicious. The service was super friendly and fast too! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good casual dining experience with menu options you don't see...
