China Town's food is a B- to B depending on the dish. The portion sizes are good and the prices are reasonable, representing a good value.

My rating reflects China Town's poor customer service and bait-and-switch tactics related to their spin to win a free appetizer on orders over $25. On such orders, you spin, and the associate gives you a handwritten post-it note for a free appetizer on the next visit.

Upon advising of the free appetizer you're entitled to, the associate aggressively insists that you bring the post-it note with you. They even called when I was en-route to pick up my order to ensure that I have the post-it note. This interaction is off-putting and reflects their lack of trust in their customers.

The other issue with this spin-to-win appetizer situation is the bait-and-switch tactics they frequently deploy. They will often insist that they can't provide the appetizer you have the post-it note for and then offer to replace it with crab rangoon. On my 12/8 visit, I had a coupon for steamed dumplings and they insisted I accept crab rangoon. It wasn't clear why they could not provide the dumplings but when I insisted, they said ok and reminded me to bring the post-it note. I also received a call from someone named Victor when I was en-route to ensure I had the coupon. Upon arriving home with my order, I found that it did not include the dumplings or crab rangoon. China Town lied and had no intention of providing dumplings and allowed me to leave hoping that I would not check my order which contained $40 of food. I called and they apologized and offered to give me a credit on my next order but they have lost all credibility with me. I've considered finding another Chinese restaurant but as noted above, the food is fairly decent for a neighborhood establishment. I suppose I will patronize them less frequently than my current...

Terrible experience with this restaurant. We placed an on-line order for delivery. After an hour (when the food was supposed to be delivered), we received a text saying that the restaurant could not find a driver and we could pick up the order or cancel. I called the restaurant to find out what was going on but was told by the person who answered the phone that they could not access the on-line system and that a manager would call back. This was a lie....the manager never called. I tried calling the driver the app had provided but no one answered. Finally, almost an hour after the food was to be delivered and several hours after I had ordered the food, I drove to the restaurant to either pick up our food or get a refund. I had to wait 10 minutes at the counter before someone finally came out from the kitchen.

The young girl said that she did not know anything...she could not find my order nor could she refund my money. She said that the manager had left. Who knows what was true. She finally checked something in her records and said that the driver had just picked up the food (must have happened before I entered the restaurant). So I tried the driver again. This time when I called the driver, he answered saying that he had the food but had been delivering food to other homes in the area. He was on the way to our house. The food arrived cold and very late.

I would never order from this restaurant again. Dishonesty is a terrible way to treat customers....

I don’t like to leave reviews whether positive or negative. I feel compelled to leave one since I’ve tried this place several times and it seems to be consistent in the wrong direction.

First off, not once have they ever been friendly, always awkward encounters, no greetings when you come up to the counter, just blank stares and the sense that they just don’t value your business. There have been a couple issues with orders in the past but they in no way cared to remediate the issue, at least for me they didn’t. They also have a sign by the register that offers $10 to leave a 5-star review which is comical in my opinion. I hope people are leaving truthful reviews.

With that, the food is mediocre at best, I usually would keep that to myself but tonight’s food was really bad. I grabbed the coconut shrimp, half order, it was all badder, really chewy, nasty tasting shrimp and just not worth the price point. On the positive the flavor of the sauce was good.

I’m not saying don’t try this place. Just simply sharing my experiences after giving them chances over and over again.
