Darby's Bakery — Restaurant in West Boylston

Darby's Bakery is an absolute gem, earning every bit of its 5-star rating! I recently visited and was completely blown away by their Pepperoni Focaccia. It was incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and had that ideal crunch on the outside with a wonderfully soft interior. Seriously, it's one of the best focaccias I've ever had! To go along with my pastry, I tried the Candy Bar Latte, which was also delicious. It was expertly mixed and had a fantastic balance of flavors – a real treat. Beyond the amazing food and drinks, the experience was made even better by the staff. Everyone was so pleasant, and the overall environment was incredibly friendly and inviting. In an effort to support local business I bought 2 desserts from Darby's this Christmas. A double crust apple pie and a tiny cheesecake. Never again. The bottom pie crust was completely raw. Completely. I don't know how bad you have to be to do that and SELL it. Disgusting and frankly a health issue. The cheesecake was very miniaturized version of the one I bought last year but not half as good. I set it out to come to temperature and it wept this weird clear glaze and the bottom became very soggy. I feel cheated and taken for granted. I've tried cupcakes here before which were OK but obviously frozen and tasted a little freezer burnt. They would have been great if not for that. Tonight I was in a dinner bind and close by so I decided to try their ravioli and chicken parm. The ravioli was just OK but the chicken parm was a soggy mess. I was expecting the chicken to be real chicken breasts but it looked like chicken patties and had the same consistency. Definitely disappointing.
