DEEK'S Hot Chicken — Restaurant in West Caldwell

I just picked up for the first time while on duty at the rescue squad, and writing my review while eating. Less than 10 min for fresh hot food. The young girl at the counter explained that everything is fried in beef tallow fresh to order, I ordered mild chicken sandwich and it has just the right amount of heat as I’m not really a fan of spicy, it is so crispy and tender and with the pickles and the coleslaw on it, including bun it is outstanding. I also ordered a side of fries also fried in beef tallow, and you really can taste the difference. When I opened the takeout box, they didn’t just slap together a sandwich. It was nice and put together with Care. Owning food, businesses myself, I tend to be hesitant when places open in the first few weeks, but they obviously planned and are doing extremely well in their soft opening. I was lucky to meet Sam the owner and you could tell that the passion is there and he is actually there which you don’t always say, especially after the first two weeks of an opening. There’s another hot chicken place around the corner and I have to say this place is spotless Which is always the first sign of a clean kitchen.
