Sam's Bagel & Deli — Restaurant in West Caldwell

After being discharged from the ER at 4 am and not being able to eat for nearly a week, as my appetite came back ALL I could think about was a breakfast sandwich. I stayed up an extra hour when I learned my go-to bagel place opened at 5. Got there only to be ignored and then told they weren’t turning the grill on for another 30 minutes. Annoying, but it’s early, I understand. I proceeded to try three more 5am bagel spots on Bloomfield Ave before arriving at Sam’s. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me with a huge smile, and even made me home fries despite only being open for about 15 minutes. It was everything I had been thinking about and more. Even got myself a Yoohoo. It is now 6 am and I truly just woke my boyfriend up close to tears to tell him about the nice man who made me home fries with peppers AND onions. To the people working at Sam’s, and in particular the gentleman who took my order, both your food and your kindness is exactly what I needed this morning, and I can’t thank you enough. Definitely...

This was my first and last time I will ever go there. Take or leave the review. I’ll keep it straight to the point.

1. Nasty staff (yelling, rolling eyes, huffing, I really thought it was a joke at first or a misunderstanding)

2. Figure out what your order will cost BEFORE you pay and see if your total matches what they tell you. I bet you it won’t. You will pay more than you calculated. $5.50 plus tax is $5.88, not $6.00 like he charged me. So I actually called the guy out on it because I ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks. And he responds with…”eh, it’s close.” If you need the extra funds that bad you can have it (I figured it’s no different from leaving a tip and left it alone). For me it’s about the principal and not about the money.

3. Lastly, I take a bit of my Taylor ham egg and cheese and it was horrendous. It was hard and it tasted funny. I looked at it and the cheese looked moldy and there was no way in hell my...

my family and i have been getting bagels here for as long as i can remember and years before i was ever alive, and we've always been satisfied. the staff is so nice and there is particularly one man that always loves seeing me there and i think its so sweet. the bacon egg and cheese flagels and bagels are absolutely bomb whether you get cheddar cheese OR american cheese, and the bagels there themselves are like to die for, at other bagel shops and bakeries you usually just end up buying a bunch of cheap quality crappy bagels but here that'll never happen to you !! i highly recommend stopping by here for breakfast or maybe lunch as long as you dont come too late, this place is amazing!! if you live close by and ur new to town and dont know a good place to get breakfast or something then go here, i promise you that you will be at least 99.9% satisfied with your...
