O-M-G-!!! Jack in the Box in OHIO!?!? Yes - it's true. Better yet, I 'discovered' this fast food treasure chest around 1:30 AM returning home to the Dayton area from a Foo Fighters concert in Cincinnati. I was quite hungry and looking for anything open late. Lo, and behold, the munchie gods blessed me w a sight and tastes I haven't had in over a decade. I thought Jack was limited to southern and southwestern states - regions where there are several Army posts at which I was stationed 'back in the day.' I've bragged for decades to my fellow Ohioan friends that haven't experienced the pleasures of Jack in the Box to make sure any travels southward include searching for Jack along the way. No, it's not fine dining, and it's not healthy for the body, but it can be quite healthy for the soul and figurative heart. I recall commercials actually boasting about using real butter, real lard, real milk, real cheese, and so on, instead of trying to save calories by using processed 'food products' to make their yummy menu items. Anyway, I was absolutely thrilled that my order (of far more food than I could or should eat at once - maybe even in a whole day or two) was the freshest, most delicious fast food I've had in what seems like forever! The drive thru worker either was heavily sleep deprived, bored out of his mind, or maybe medicated, because he sounded stoned and half asleep, and I had to repeat my entire order a few times, but I was patient about doing so because I wanted it right. His slurred, mumbling voice had me worried, but my order was prepared to perfection! Every bit of it was fresh, hot, tasty, crispy in the right places, chewy in the right places, MMM!!! The shakes are so thick you have to use a spoon or work the thick straw carefully! This store is over 30 miles from my home, but I WILL be taking my wife and kids on a road trip to experience Jack in the Box for themselves very soon - without having to take a vacation to Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, or Oklahoma where I know for sure Jack has stores fattening up the spirits of the masses with happy...
Read moreIt took a total of 15 minutes from the time we ordered our food till we got it in our hands. It took 7 minutes for the boy to even take our order. There was one car in front of us and a truck behind us. That's it. The truck behind us eventually pulled out of line and circled around the building and pulled back in line in which we were STILL sitting there. We even put the car in park. When we got to the window, the boy was rude, his sleeves were dirty and so long they interfered with his deliverance of the money and food. I also opted for an iced coffee with my #2 and he said they were out of iced coffee. So I asked for a hot coffee. We waited long enough for our food so i tasted my coffee and it was NOT good at all. And all you have to do is google me and you'll know I know all about coffee. When I told the boy that my coffee didn't taste good and asked him to take it back and give me a coke instead he literally got an attitude and sacarstically said absolutely you can and then snatched the coffee out of my son's hand.
I opened the box to see that the $6.61 burger and fry I bought looked like a $2 value meal from McDonald's. And we all know how that quality is.
We rounded the corner to leave and had to get out onto the highway. By the time we hit the red light we looked over and seen that the truck behind us in line was STILL there.
I haven't had Jack in the Box since I was 10 and in San Diego so naturally I was excited. This location definitely ruined that excitement.
I will never venture to this one again and I'm definitely contacting their...
Read moreI pulled up to the restaurant, because I had s T-Mobile deal to use. It said in the window, "drive through open." Thus, I assumed the drive through was open for my online order.
I placed the online order through the app. The app told me it was being made. My card was charged $5 and some change.
I pulled up to the speaker; no answer. I decided to pull up to the window to see what was up and saw the "we are closed for whatever whatever."
How are you going to let me place an order and charge my card when you're CLOSED? I will not be eating at your restaurant in the future, and I will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau if my complaint (already submitted through your feedback) is not addressed and my money returned.
Come ON.
Edit December 28, 2021: 1200+ views and this God-forsaken company still hasn't done anything to try to pay me back besides tell me to call them during hours that I work to earn the money that they stole from me.
Please, don't ever give this restaurant chain your money. They...
