Dog Haus - UIC — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Got a hot dog on my lunch break. It took about 30 minutes for me to get my OVERPRICED hot dog, and took my whole lunch break.

When I arrived at the location, there was no line to be seen. The cashier did not acknowledge my arrival but saw come in and turned his back towards me and ignored the whole establishment for about 10-15 minutes before he even took my order. When he started to take my order, there was no apology or acknowledgement of the wait. Once I placed my order, it took another 15-20 minutes for me to receive my one (1) hot dog, The Cowboy. I will also note that the kitchen seemed relatively well-staffed. I wanted to try the fries but upon waiting so long for my order to be even taken, I reluctantly decided I needed to simplify my meal if I didn't want my lunch to last longer.

Overall, the Cowboy hot dog was average as ever for the price, average even compared to a $5 hot dog. The place left a lot to be desired. The staff was unprofessional and slow. Hopefully you train your...

Nice staff and speedy service. I get it, cut corners to save money but to sell food and alcohol but not offer complimentary water so close to a university is socially irresponsible. I don’t care how you care to spin it, especially when the options are TAP and DASANI? UIC deserves better. Also….. the food tastes Ai or like something from Target’s frozen section. I got a burger and it was flavorful but a bit heavy on the salt and it didn’t hit the way a good burger should. Kudos on the grass fed beef but was the grass in the feed from a 3D printer? What’s that about? I think the menu items looked interesting but I’m not compelled to return. I would rather get stomped out at bar Louie across the street...

I just got back from a Bears game and wanted to show my 7 yr old where I used to live and work (University vIllage) and wanted to get a bite to eat. (I used to be a regular at Caribou Coffee here...fond memories...but I digress) but the Bter Burger was incredible, the fries were crispy perfection and the chicken tenders were perfectly seasoned. I am truly floored by the quality. Makaela was very kind and brought our food to our table. I would recommend this place and hope to see this restaurant succeed as it is sad to see so many favorites not...
