I usually do not post on reviews but I just had to share what happen My family and I visited this particular Bar Louie for my daugher’s 21st birthday 8/29/19, I have been there a few times before this incident and never had any problems. They were short staffed and we were tolerable of the long wait time. The problem came when the waitress “Nerica ” took our orders and the group requested separate bills which was allowed, during that time someone left which was a friend of someone in the group and she did not pay for her order. So now towards the end of the night we were all paying for our food and some of the family have left and my daughter was still enjoying herself and the waitress came to the table and said that we cannot leave until the bill was paid. It was explained that we was not responsible for that person bill, and the manager comes and he then calls the police stating the we were trying to leave w/o paying our bill. I had just paid $100+ bill and was not abt to pay for someone else’s bill. I know I should not be responsible for someone bill when we have separate bills and it was not until the waitress realized she allowed someone to leave w/o paying that this rule came about. When I asked the manager to show me where it says that I am responsible for someone else’s bill he started saying this is a civil matter and blah blah blah, but never showed any proof. Also we were told we could not order any other food until that bill was paid. When my sister and I went to the bar to order drinks the bartender charged my sister sixteen dollars each for two shots of vanilla sky vodka. I asked why did they cost so much she replied after 10 pm that all the drinks double need to remind you I had just ordered a beer and paid regular price so that was bs, so my thought was that they were trying to get the bill paid for one way or another so that the waitress would not have to come out of pocket for the unpaid bill. The night ended with no one going to jail but, the extreme in which the employees went and the manager was did not lead by...
Read moreI came during happy hour, so let’s start with the customer service, it was AMAZING. If you get the opportunity to have your drink made by Ashton the bartender then you’ve had an amazing alcoholic molecular experience. She makes the best drinks, not too strong, but stiff enough to make you scrunch up your face. The first drink I had was “The Star” and I ordered an appetizer of the boneless wings and tempura shrimp. First of all, the STAR was the best grey goose cocktail that I’ve ever had! It comes with a garnish of champagne (in the form of a shot). Now, Grey goose is not one my favorites but the drink was so good and refreshing that me and my companion almost ordered another! The second drink was the Mojito, and my companion had a strawberry mojito, both well blended and flavored with a good balance. Let’s talk about the food, THE SHRIMP TEMPURA IS TO DYE FOR, the shrimp size is true to its “JUMBO” description, the Aoli is FIREEEEE, and the boneless chicken appetizer was a great match for the drinks. The manager is very attentive to the service being provided. All of the bartenders that were on duty understood the menu and were able to to explain it to us in a precise fashion. Overall the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere begs me to give this place 4 STARS! Well worth it. I would have gave them 5 but the bathroom was overflown with water from the toilets I believe, so the lack of cleanliness dropped it to a 4. I also want to note that the drinks are delicious, I think I already said that but it was such a great experience that I have to reiterate my joy! I hope you all have a great time there, and park two block down,...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer for over 7 years, and I’ve never had such a terrible experience at Bar Louie Carmel INDIANA - until now. It’s honestly disappointing to see how poorly the new staff is running things.
We recently received an official email from Bar Louie stating that the location closes at 1:00 am and that the kitchen remains open until the end of the shift. Based on that, we arrived with plenty of time and tried to order food at 12:28am. To our surprise, the bartender told us that the kitchen didn’t want to take any more orders because they were upset about receiving a food ticket at 12:30 am.
When we pointed out that it was only 12:28 and showed her the email confirming that the kitchen stays open until 1:00 am, she dismissively said that the email “wasn’t for this Bar Louie, only for other locations.” Seriously? So you’re sending misleading information to your customers, or is your staff just ignoring company policy?
In all my years coming here, I’ve never seen such disorganization and lack of professionalism. The service was rude, confused, and completely out of line.
To be clear: I will come back, because I know this location and what it used to stand for. The staff doesn’t define the entire place—but the attitude and behavior of the new team is absolutely unacceptable and a major disappointment. I truly hope Bar Louie takes a hard look at who they’re hiring and how that’s affecting...
