Average Experience at Ghareeb Nawaz UIC - Decent Food, Service Needs Improvement
Review: 3/5
I recently dined at Ghareeb Nawaz UIC, and my experience was average overall. While the food had its merits, I found that the restaurant fell short in terms of service and atmosphere, leading me to give it a 3 out of 5 star rating.
Let's start with the positives. The food at Ghareeb Nawaz UIC was decent. They offered a variety of authentic dishes with generous portion sizes. I particularly enjoyed the flavorful curries and aromatic biryanis. The prices were reasonable, making it a suitable option for those on a budget or looking for a quick and filling meal.
However, my experience was dampened by the lackluster service. The staff seemed disengaged and unattentive. It was challenging to get their attention when we needed assistance or had questions about the menu. Additionally, the waiting time for our food was longer than expected, indicating a potential issue with their kitchen efficiency.
The restaurant's atmosphere also left much to be desired. The seating area felt cramped and lacked proper ventilation, resulting in an uncomfortable dining experience. The overall ambiance was dull and lacked character, failing to create a welcoming or enjoyable environment.
Another area that could use improvement is cleanliness. The tables and floors appeared unclean, giving an impression of inadequate maintenance. This aspect significantly impacted my overall impression of the restaurant.
Despite these drawbacks, I must acknowledge that Ghareeb Nawaz UIC serves as a convenient option for those seeking affordable and tasty Pakistani cuisine near the UIC campus. It can be a good spot for a quick meal, especially for students or individuals looking for budget-friendly options.
In summary, Ghareeb Nawaz UIC offers decent food at affordable prices. However, the restaurant falls short in terms of service, atmosphere, and cleanliness. While it may satisfy your craving for Pakistani cuisine, I would recommend managing your expectations and being prepared for an average...
Read moreFood very good, price great, but the phone service + the delivery are the worst, which are the reasons that I'm giving only one star!!!!! Almost everytime I talk on the phone something happens! One time I called and asked the guy if they have delivery, and then he said "Yes, what do you want?" I said this, this, and this. I asked how much, he said $22. I said why it's much experience than usual!!! He said the delivery service is $5, and $2 tip. And because my house is too close and I have my car so I said "then, I'll pick it up." He said "No you can't change from delivery to pick up." IT WAS LESS THAN ONE MIN AND HE SAYS WHAAAAT!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I drove there to pick it up and tell him that it didn't make any sense!!!! However, I paid $5 delivery after he was like begging me!!!!!! Saying "I can't plz, I'm gonna pay it myself."
Today, the guy was too rude on the phone! Anyway, I ordered at 7pm and received it 9:40pm!!!!!!!!!! They close at 9:30pm I don't know what's their story!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just what to say! Luv the food, the location is very close to my house, but the...
Read moreI seen some the good reviews here and wanted to try it out with my family. We started off with the somasas and they were good. After that we ordered butter chicken and their biryani. We were all excited because the food came out quick and portions were huge. The food itself looked delicious too! Unfortunately, the taste was not there... I found no Desi taste in the rice nor the meat. My family and me left that place with 90% of the food still on the plate. I felt so bad that I asked for multiple take out boxes and we dumped the food there just so we can throw it out ourselves. I wanted to tell them there was no Desi taste but there was only a kid working the front and the women in the kitchen could not understand any English or Urdu/Bengali. Please fix your mess...
