Always electric to experience the market thriving after all these years and moves! This location is both the original AND the current location; the marker at Des Plaines is no longer accurate. THAT SAID even if you don't find any treasures when you visit (unlikely), the people make it worth it. I always have a good convo with someone there. Also since I believe the city hasn't zoned this location for food stalls (?), I recommend grabbing food from the nearby Lalo's (who sometimes grills elotes outside), Cairo Kebab, or the classic Jim's Original!

They used to be on 800 S Desplaines Street in Chicago but retuned to the original streets of South and Maxwell Streets between Halstead and Union Streets. There is a live band to enjoy and picnic tables for the public. If you are hungry there are hot dogs and burgers and restaurants right on the streets. Street parking only. Portable potties also.
