El Taco Azteca does NOT seem to care about their customers, repeatedly ignoring order details that include food sensitivity/dietary needs/allergies thus giving wrong or incomplete orders. As a local customer I’ve ordered from here numerous times and at first had good experiences but the past three times and more has been a heart break and complete disregard for order details (they’ve even did not include my chicken on my chicken torta)— which is disappointing as their online app and ordering system has been designed to better accommodate order needs and details like “no sauce” or having certain ingredients omitted or on the side with the push of a button, however they’ve proven now again after three times that they won’t even follow and will ignore features of and customer specifications in their own ordering system. This puts mine and others customers health at risk due to food sensitive/dietary needs/allergies and is completely deceitful as it takes our money for incorrect orders and food customers cannot eat without getting sick. In the past, I’ve even tried calling in and directly speaking to staff my order details and having a staff member confirm and reconfirm in-person when I pick up the orders but alas, still order is incorrect, details ignored, and/or I’m lied to. It’s disappointing.
Do not go here if you want to be cared for as a customer and order details respectfully fulfilled. Sadly I won’t be returning and will encourage my family and others, especially those who also have food sensitivity/dietary needs/allergies as simple as omitting or having the sauce on the side to avoid this...
Read moreOn a Thursday evening, a party of three went to El Taco Azteca in Pilsen to enjoy margaritas and the restaurant’s interesting food and ended up being double-charged on a credit card and cash. The waitress was working alone, but not too busy. The food was fine, nothing spectacular. We’d dined there before. Our bill came to $162.07. We presented a credit card. The total charge came to $196.93, which included a $4.86 credit card surcharge and a $30 tip. After the charge went through, we realized there was a mistake in the bill. We brought it to the waitress’ attention. She agreed and returned with the corrected bill. At the time, we didn’t notice that she only brought the new bill to the table. This time, we paid cash for the bill and the tip. She left again to work on this but did not return. We caught up with her to see if something more was coming but she said everything was OK. That evening, a pending charge of $166.93 (for the bill plus the surcharge) showed up on the credit card account (oddly, they had not included the $30 tip). We called the restaurant the next day, explained what happened, and requested the cancellation of the charge. The person who answered the phone said he would investigate and call back, but there was no call. We called again, got the same answer and no call back. The item posted on the third day and the charge has not been reversed. If the restaurant kept the cash and the charge, was this a mistake? If so, why has the charge not...
Read moreMy husband and I were excited to try this place. We were highly disappointed to say the less. When you come in the restaurant is a bit messy but nothing crazy, seem like a nice place. We were told to scan with our phones to pull up the menu. The menu was super unique and different than your typical taqueria. The ingredients listed on the menu seem very unique and we could understand how 1 taco can be $5. Ingredients listed seem like it was worth the price. We order 2 steak tacos, a steak torta and their shrimp empanadas. When they came out we were confused as to why most of the ingredients listed on the menu were missing. Apparently according to the waitress we were given there Old menu food that she wasn't aware until she had brought out the food. She stated the menu given to us wasn't ready to be serve. Mind you she didn't say anything until we pointed out that what we got wasn't what we order. We spoke to the manager all he did was apologized and say we'll if you want we can prepared what is actually on the menu. We were super confused as to why that wasn't done originally. We declined. They made us pay for something we didn't like or originally order. For example:Ordered a rib eye steak with patella cheese, urugula, guacamole and pickle onions tacos and we got thin beef steak guisados tacos with spinach and onions. Like that's not the $5 taco I order and still had to pay for which was...
