So, Iāve lived in this neighborhood for some time but have never made it out to this deli but I was in the mood for soup and a bagel, so I stopped in. BOY, WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!! I came in at 12:25 on Tuesday, Oct. 8th, to no one behind the counter. A woman rushed in and asked me for my order while she was headed to the kitchen? I was confused as she did not address me directly or look at me so I patiently waited even longer. She then asked me for my order again, I asked for a matzo ball soup. She yelled at me again, āWHAT?!ā and I repeated my order. She then continued to yell at me āSMALL OR LARGE.ā It took me a second to think as I was deciding if I wanted to get a small or large because I also wanted a bagel. She yelled, again, āSMALL OR LARGE.ā In this moment I realized she was not my mother and I was attempting to patron her work place and that she was going to continue yelling at me, I decided to leave. SHE CONTINUED TO YELL āSMALL OR LARGEā A ME WHILE I LEFT!!! I will never, ever, ever come back. I just wanted some soup and a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDropped in to get the Lox Bagel and this was a decent sandwich overall. I got it on a plain bagel, with everything on it. The bagel was kinda hard to my liking but the salmon was delicious. 8.3. I will tap in again to try other options especially their Rueben I saw a guy order two for breakfast š ...it must be good. Customer service was good the man working was super nice and helpful.
*Update * I got Rueben this time it's a pretty decent size sandwich with a good amount of corn beef. Overall wasn't a bad sandwich but not over the top either for me was 7.6. I also got the Kifer Baum which is Turkey pastrami, giardiniera, and mustard on rye. The sandwich is packed with meats and the giardiniera adds the spicy kick that I like. The only thing I might change is to add mayo but other than that it was a very good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted to really like this place, however, my entire experience there was very sub-par. I was the only one in there with two people taking their sweet time. It took 20 minutes to get my lox and bagels sandwich as they were filling other orders while they were making my sandwich which should have taken far less time. The portions on the sandwich for how much I paid were also laughable. Barely any cream cheese or lox on there with more dill on it than anything.
Your best bet for going to a proper Jewish Deli in the city is still going to be Manny's with Steingold's off Southport coming in at a...
