We got scammed. Came here for lunch with my coworker, taco plate was delicious. But this whole experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. At first we noticed that the menu said that a taco plate would include 4 tacos but they explained that's only the case if you get hard shell tacos, not soft tortillas. I let it slide and took my 3 tacos with. We paid for our food and gave them a $10 tip because one of the waiters offered to make me a 4th taco, I kindly declined when he did.
A little bit after, my coworker and I were trying to figure out how much we owed each other and things were not adding up.
Their menu said $8.50 for Chicken Taco Plate $9.50 for a Carne Asada Taco Plate $2.50 for a glass of milk $3.00 for an horchata (of which we got 2) that should've totaled $26.50, $29.15 with taxes. Plus the $10 tip we should've gotten a GRAND TOTAL OF $39.15
but no... our bill came out to $48.30
we went back and they said the taco plates were $12.25 and $13.75 for their taco plates... I chose not to argue and left, but I'm not coming back.
Crazy thing is, their food was so good I would've been willing to pay what they charged me, but want to come in KNOWING how much I'll be paying.
We shared this with the secretaries of our workplace and they shared a similar experience in how they won't be going back either.
All I can say is, I feel sorry for everyone else they have and will scam. TRANSPARENCY IS ALWAYS BEST.
Update: What an unprofessional reply from the owner. This was an honest and thorough review and somehow, they're the victims? Shame on me, he said. Wow....
Read moreThe young man there is one of the best servers I've ever had. Kept the table clean and free of all used plates as soon as we were done with a plate or cup, kept our coffee topped off, checked in on us many times, got our order taken immediately and got our food to us faster then anywhere else I've been lately. The food is pretty good here but we go for the service. Also, this particular server is a pretty good conversationalist. I saw all servers busing tables immediately and cleaning many surfaces constantly. I was very impressed by that. The only downside here is the parking situation. Limited spots in the lot behind and good luck with any street parking. The sunflower seed atole is excellent. The white atole is so-so. Their lemonade( with or without chia) are fresh, made, and excellent. Huevos divorciados are very good. The Lomo is very tender and well seasoned but on the fattier side (if you add that). Pancakes are good, enchiladas de Mole are very good, (both beef and chicken) Milanesa dinner is excellent (well seasoned, good breading, crispy outside and tender inside), they give you a nice sized portion for the price. Beans and rice are not very seasoned and have less salt than I'm used to, but they still are good and taste fresh. The kids' hamburger is terrible. It's obviously a cheap frozen patty made with by-products. I don't recommend it. But their fries are amazing. The fries taste like they are cooked in fresh fry oil every time we get them. They are fresh cut fries. They have a wonderful flavor. Their coffee is pretty good, too, but not on the...
