I've come here for some time and I like their cookies among other pastries, there was only one other person in the bakery besides the employee so it was an easy in and out, the bread is done in the morning so by the time I got here in the evening the bread was still good. They do have a restaurant side for fast things to consider, tortas like El chavo Bleu, Maestro ta ta ta, Chilipollo, wingamon, kikotenders, popinachos, jaimichurro, la vecindad are the names of what they have. Paid parking in front and around the place. They do have a couple of chairs to enjoy there but it is up to you.

I just happened to be in the area. My wife wanted to come because she remembered the place. We ended up getting a few things before they closed. I was really looking forward to some sugar doughnuts but they were out. Got a churro and it was really good. Wife got stuff for her and everyone else. $40 worth of stuff jeez. Happy wife, happy life...

I have always loved this place since the 1980s. Was so upset when I found out they had closed and yet happily excited to find out that they had been reopened again. Just so I can come and purchase four sweet potato empanadas with barely any sweet potato in them. Taking this inflation thing a little bit too overboard....

i have been going here since the early 80's. My favorite all time cookie are the triangle shaped ones flavored with the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry! When I moved away from the neighborhood my parents remained. i would visit my folks house and when i had time i would stop by El Nopal and buy my special cookies. Sometimes i had to buy and eat them in private!! So good not so share!! My heart dropped when they closed. Couldnt find another place to match that cookie. A few years ago, my sister texted me and she saw on social media that they were reopening!! Guess where i went the next day?..Yep!...you guessed it!! I've made it a habit to aleast go there every 6-8 weeks. I get about 6-8 of my favorite cookies and get the conchas for my family. (I have to distract them so that they dont beg for my...

I really don't get why they refuse to accept the Link card. Especially in this neighborhood, what I mean is pretty much 97% of the bakeries, grocery stores, food marts, corner family owned food stores accept it! And,there's alot of people hurting financially around here, myself included! I can understand NOT accepting it for their cakes made for special occasions. But for basic breads cookies, donuts?! Come on,you're losing business! It would be to your benefit to start accepting it! Oh,well I can always go to Rosy's (also on 26th,about a blk.W. of Kedzie,S.side of street) grab a treat AND get a decent cup of coffee with the SNAP card. They even have assorted...
