Ludlow Liquors — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Srsly, as a gen x I’ll admit that I’m getting close to old man territory but is this a bar or a Starbucks? Asked for a Sportmans cocktail, literally created by the restaurant group behind this bar, and was lectured about how they had it when they opened but couldn’t make it. They made it sound like they opened in the olden days and I know I had it before the latest rotation of recipe card bartenders and during my last visit within the last 6 months or so. I would take photos of every ingredient needed for the drink on the bar but that would be too obvious. Ultimately it made me reticent to even ask for something that wasn’t explicitly listed on the bar menu which is a shame. Guess I’m better off making my drinks at home where if I or one of my guests want something I’ve never made before it’s worth the quick, have you heard of it, google search, to learn how to make it. Aside from that, in a blandly corporate (oddly given the venue) way, the bartender was pleasant...

8:00pm last night I wandered in here with my friend during the worst week of my life. The bar tenders were both kind but the man was was very intelligent not giving me more than 2 long islands...in under 30 min...I then went home and proceeded to try and drink more beers and vodka where my also intelligent boyfriend stopped me while I bit him to give me back my alcohol. Still frustrated now I started hanging cloth tapestries on the walls and made a hole in my bedside table somehow and all the clothes had fallen out of the closet when I woke... BEST LONG ISLANDS IN THE CITY! first alcohol I've had in a long time...Thought it might make me feel better or at least change my mindset.... Just to discover I'm an angry drunk who breaks only objects I own and care about as I rage.. I'll be back to try the food...

Really wanted to like this place because the patio seemed cool but the staff were so rude. I never get online and post reviews that are negative...until this happened to me. My friends and I were dumbfounded by how unprofessional and snarky the bar staff were. Probably not a good look to have aggressive men working for you, Ludlow. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant or bar before. My friends (we're all female) left because of the encounters we had with both bartenders that were working. There were a couple of guys sitting at a table close to us that looked shocked by how we were being treated. Just an all around yucky vibe and feeling. For that reason alone I will never attempt go back here and definitely be telling my other female friends to avoid...
