Paku Paku Sushi — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Go here! There's lots of sushi in chicago but good sushi is hard to come by. Prices on some things are a little more expensive than other places in the area, but its worth it. Nigiri doesn't have a thin sheet of fish draped over a big glob of rice, they give you a good cut that is filling with just a few pieces and the ratio of fish to rice is excellent. The rice is also excellent, its exactly how it should be. A lot of places treat the rice as an afterthought, but rice is an important part of sushi. It creates the texture and compliments the flavor of the fish. It should be soft, pillowy and around skin temperature (a little warm). It should not be cold, dense, or hard. Everything here was done right. Great spot, friendly staff, good food. I've eaten at a lot of places including high end omakase. This place provides something hard to come by at this price point, good portions and sushi that tastes the way its supposed to taste....

Really glad this place opened up. The sushi is fresh, the prices are great, and everyone working there is incredibly friendly. The Dragon on Fire Roll and Volcano Roll were the standouts. They were packed with flavor and made with care. Even the miso soup was a surprise hit. It’s made from scratch daily and not overly salty like it can be at other spots.

Absolutely amazing experience! The sushi was incredibly delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. I’ll definitely be coming back. Without a doubt, one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever tried. Highly recommended. My favorite Mango tango tropical. The mango adds the perfect touch. So refreshing and delicious. The green dragon it's Amazing the cilantro adds a zesty, aromatic.
