Obviously, this is not a hawaiian style poke. I mean, I dont think any of the mainland poke spot does true Hawaiian style to be fair. If you have been to Hawaii, you know poke are pre marinated with frsh Ahi tuna, rock salt, sweet onion, inamona, limu, and some variations. Typically, it doesn't use different fish, no toppings like pinapple, mango, or heavy sauce. Basically, it's not really instagramable? But I'm opposed to it being different because this is how culinary evolves and something delicious can be created. Mommoth Poke is just that. Their mixture of toppings, sauces, and fish creates a very flavorful dish as one. Read moreThis place is fantastic! The price you pay for 3 scoops or 5 scoops of protein and then any toppings is amazing.
The food tastes fresh, the staff are very kind, and the seating availability is limited.
We walked here off the L train- but it was worth it.
We also found that this place has limited street parking, but has a small outside seating area to eat.
This place is a buy your own food and sit down somewhere. They do not clean up your mess - so you will have to clean up yourself and toss your garbage in the bin.
Would definitely recommend coming here for fresh Poke anytime you visit this side of town or...

The place is very clean and they also weigh the noodles/rice to ensure evenness. The only con I would say is that the scoops of fish are on the small side so I would recommend 5 scoops over 3 for an adult. Also you get more fish if you choose the fish that already have spicy sauce, like spicy tuna, as opposed to plain fish, like plain salmon, due to the scoop shape. The seaweed salad topping and masago are both $1 extra which a...
