El Bagelero — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Great reimagined spot on the corner of Western and Armitage across from Margies. Breakfast bagels and burritos - the El Machismo was delicious.

This google maps listing is really wrong - says it has a patio (it doesn’t), is lively (it’s a counter serve with a few interior seats, no atmosphere). Many of the photos are from an entirely different business called El Bagel. Clearly the algorithm is conflating the two. Two news articles linked to it on a Google Maps listing from Block Club and elsewhere.. are not about this place. Sorry. Still think it’s good, but don’t trust...

EDIT: I am updating my review based on the owners response below, stating they operate out of the facility next door (Picante Taqueria). This was not a known fact and is not advertised on signage anywhere outdoors, nor on google. A vacant storefront is visible from the street, however it appears they are NOT permanently closed after all.

This place is, and has been, closed for the better part of a year now. The store itself does not exist and it's a vacant storefront. Not sure why reviews for this place from recently are still trickling in... don't waste your time...

Great! After going just once I knew this would be my go to breakfast spot. Staff are very friendly (though when I went they were getting a little overwhelmed, so the wait was longer than I expected).

The food is great! I got the breakfast burrito and it was 2 mini burritos. It was the perfect filling:tortilla ratio, a lot less messy to eat than one large burrito, and perfect if you just want a light breakfast because you can save half for later. The burrito itself was delicious – much better than other breakfast places I've tried near by.
