I downloaded the McDonald's app to order food, as the online options have more value. The mobile ordering process was okay.
When he arrived to pick up the order, food items were missing, which we thought were corrected. My husband left the restaurant, and several items were still missing when I reviewed the order at home.
I called (773-366-**) for the McDonald's located at 5624 W Roosevelt several times with no answer. After 10 minutes of trying to reach someone over the voicemail option, I finally spoke to someone. The person told me to come to the location, and I would receive the missing items.
I drove back to the location, and the lobby area was inaccessible because it was now after 11 p.m., so I proceeded to wait in the drive-thru, where two long lines of cars were waiting to order.
After 10 minutes of waiting, we finally arrived at the speaker, and I told the person the situation again. The person stated, "Um, I don't know what to tell you, "To which I stated that I called and was told to return to the restaurant. I was then told to drive to the window. It took another 10 minutes to get to the window, and I told the person who slid the window back that I had a mobile order and was there to get the missing items while handing him the receipt for proof of purchase.
The person said he couldn't help me, and I told them he needed to get someone because I was told to come back.
He closed the window and spoke to another person in Spanish, then returned to the window and said, "Oh, this order was placed and picked up earlier at 10:21 a.m., so we can't help you". I said no, the order was placed at 10:21 p.m. and picked up at 10:43 p.m. when it was FINALLY ready, but items were missing".
The person closed the window again, and now another person came to the window and asked, "What's the problem?"
I said I called because I was missing items from my mobile order. I was told to return to get them, and now I am being told that you will not give me my missing items. He looked at the receipt handed to him by the cashier and repeated that he couldn't help me. I demanded that I get the missing items as I paid for this food, and the missing items were for another family whose order was part of the original order placed.
After a standoff, I was told to go to the second window to get the missing items.
The food was cold, especially the fries, so I pulled off.
There was no point in trying to get fresh food, as getting the items I paid for was difficult.
I finally got home around midnight, apologized to the neighbors, and returned their money since the food was not fresh. Overall, a freaking nightmare!!
This location is not professional at all and it was no attempt to rectify the concern. I would recommend other locations across the westside of Chicago but definitely not...
Read moreThis little gem lies on Roosevelt rd. Netween the bustling Factories of Cicero,IL. And the Chicago border just half a blk. From Laramie Ave. The service is always delightful including some of the hardest working staff I've ever witnessed. This place can get slammed with drive thru orders ,however if you don't mind the rush and got a few extra minutes I'd say go inside and enjoy a clean and hospitable atmosphere. The best surprise is yet to come while you wait you can actually view the history of the IBC international boxing champion who I believe purchased this franchise and displays his belt enclosed behind the case. I know several Mickey D'S have remodeled their dining areas so I pray they haven't taken out this nostalgic gem. Cicero,IL itself is filled with a lot of mixed Mexican American ethnic foods , yet this McDonald's has done its best to keep this true to its roots by displaying a very Proud history on this Boxing legend and his Latino inspired ethos and his American story and blended for all our beautiful melting pot has offered to all people to inspire and evoke a sense of pride withing us all.
