Alex and the team at MPS have done an excellent job pivoting to make their high quality seafood and produce available to the everyday consumer to supplement their wholesale business during the pandemic.
Over the last few months, I have placed several orders for produce, fish, and groceries through their online portal, but am always able to reach Alex via email if I have questions about a pick-up time or product availability. The “short list” of items we’ve enjoyed includes Faroe Islands salmon (grilled, seared, and raw!), bluefin and yellowfin tuna (sushi and poke), hamachi, shrimp, Delaware Bay oysters (highly recommend), uni, avocados (what you’ve heard is true - some of the best avocados around for the price), broccoli, peppers, onions, and tons of other produce, nori, kanikama, and so much more.
Even in a pandemic, we have been lucky to have some really wonderful days grilling, making sushi, and most recently, learning to shuck oysters for my sister’s birthday!
And no, this is not a paid post - I just can’t say enough about the high quality and service these...
Read moreI've ordered from MPS 3x now. I am trying to get more fish into my diet, and the costs and/or quality at the grocery store kept me from it. I saw a FB ad for MPS and gave it a shot. Free delivery, costs are competitive with the Whole, but the quality is far and above in a different class. The tuna is sublime, both as poke and seared, my entire family eats the swordfish (husband is not a fish lover but grill it, top with breadcrumbs and olive oil or butter then finish in the broiler and it's divine), and the snapper is one of my favorites. What I also found is their produce is cheap and amazing - mangoes the size of your head (ok a small head, but still), and perfectly ripe. Everything I need to make fish tacos aside from the tortillas. Did I mention free next-day delivery in the chicago area? (I'm in Oak Park!). I'm sold, I will only get my fish here...
Read moreMPS is a hidden gem and the brightest part of the pandemic for our family. The fish is fresh - so fresh they had United Airlines shipping containers in the parking lot when I did a pickup. The produce is fresh, solid variety and has everything you need to make sushi, a shrimp and veggie curry or even a solid avocado toast.
The rest of the times I have used their $55 free delivery, I have received my order perfectly packed and on time the next morning, even when ordering late at night near the 9pm cutoff.
We have had sushi “roll your own” parties, integrated more fresh fish into our diets and ate more veggies. It’s so much better than instacart or Amazon fresh ever was and you’re supporting a local business - cannot recommend...
