Edit 2/13/14- still love this place, still has the best cold brew and the best bagels. Just wish I could consistently pay cash here. Today I was told I could not pay cash, then my friend right behind me in line was able to. I had exact change, and i mentioned that. Feels like I’m told something different every time. Not an awesome experience. ——— I love this place, I really do. The best cold brew in the neighborhood (maybe even in the city) and the everything bagel is to die for. However, I’ve noticed when getting hummus on my bagel, often depending on the employee making, the amount of hummus is ridiculously small to the point that it’s not even enjoyable or fully covered. Read moreAs a seasoned coffee enthusiast, I appreciate the nuances that make a coffee shop stand out, and New Wave did just that. Nestled in a prime location, the ambiance of the cafe is inviting and comfortable, a perfect backdrop for an exceptional coffee experience.

However, the iced version fell a bit short of expectations. It seemed the delicate balance was skewed by an overuse of lavender syrup, overpowering the other flavors and leaving a rather heavy taste.
Despite this, New Wave's overall experience, combined with its reasonable pricing and excellent location, earns it a solid 4 stars. It's a destination that any discerning coffee lover should consider for their next...
Read moreThe Baristas are sometimes unprofessional the coffee is sometimes meh.
Update: the Baristas are still sometimes unprofessional. Not rude they just behave as if professionalism isn't something to strive for/not part of the gig. I think the problem here is lack of training. However, the sandwiches here are very tasty. The coffee is getting intermittently better and the quality of the coffee is more consistent. When I order a cup of coffee I now know it's generally going to be okay and sometimes good. A pet peeve I have with this place is that music here is generally too loud and sometimes annoying. Im guessing that each barista takes a turn playing their music through the speaker system. Sometimes you get a barista that has really great taste other times you get a barista who has really awful taste. Either way you are listening to it...
