It's a very small place, with a wraparound lunch counter (there are no tables). Today, there was no AC on, so it was pretty warm in there. The door was open, though, so it wasn't stifling. I gotta say I highly recommend their mole. Their mole is excellent. On the weekends, they have a mole platillo special and an enchilada special. Just FYI, they serve the Enchiladas with lettuce, chopped raw onion, crema, and grated queso Ranchero/fresco. I think it's delicious this way. My favorite is the chicken enchilada in mole poblano. The Special comes with potato salad, rice, and refried beans or frijoles de la olla. I recommend the beans de la olla. They are different than most Mexican places but yummy. The rice has garbanzo beans in it, which I have never had prepared like that, but it is very good. My coworker had the chile relleno, and she loved it. Their Aguas Frescas are fresh and made from scratch. There is nothing better than a cucumber/ lime Agua after you have been sweating in the hot sun. Which is why i go there for lunch. And yes, it's sweetened, but it's not too sweet. Sometimes, they have cantaloupe, watermelon, or passion fruit waters, and they are always so good. This place is CASH ONLY. They do have an ATM in there. Oh BTW they have a way of making pancakes that is different than I've ever had them, but oh, so delicious. They are slightly crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked and soft on the inside. My husband has had the chilaquiles here, but he wasn't crazy about them because he prefers them very crispy with minimal toppings. If you like the softer chilaquiles, this is the place. Just ask about the toppings first. Bathroom is tiny but it was clean...
Read moreMy partner has been coming here since he was a kid. He really wanted to go today with our 15 month old to get some tortas. We have a stroller. He figured out that he could find some seating in the back of the diner. He had asked a bigger older white man if there was another way to get inside and he responded in a way that made it obvious that the question was an inconvenience to him. Restaurants need to be handicap accessible and so I was a bit surprised by this. We shimmied through the dinner with our stroller and our 15 month old and as soon as we opened the stroller up to put him in it, we were told we were in the way. When we asked what solutions there may be so we can all be comfortable we were just met with a "I am sorry I do not know" this is extremely inconsiderate and disappointing. When my partner pointed out that the white guy had it out for him another person sitting in the diner stated that she peeped that. I do not care how frustrated with your day you may be. But please be considerate to mothers, fathers,...
Read moreThe food is amazing and I have been coming here for years, but I went in recently and 1. I didn’t get offered any soup although the people next to me did and as the server was serving the soups he looked at me and still passed me and didn’t ask. I didn’t hear what he said in terms of what I wanted in my food so when I asked him if he could please repeat himself, he gave me an attitude. The lady kept answering to me in English regardless of me talking to her in Spanish but would speak to other guests in Spanish. It’s unfortunate because I’ve always spoken highly about this place and have recommended it many times, but this is not the first time something like this has happened. I was given a dirty fork and when I asked if I could please have another one because the one that was handed to me was dirty, she gave me an attitude and gave me another one. It sucks, the food is amazing but for my hard earned money, I will not...
