Tous Les Jours — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

My friend ordered a cake from here this past Saturday over the phone for Monday. The person on the phone took her order and the time she wanted to pick it up, everything. So, on Monday she called and confirmed earlier in the day that they could have it ready by 4 pm. Yet, they said there was no cake order when she went to pick it up. After confirming pick up earlier that morning! What made it worse is that the girl at the store was really condescending and questioned if she really had an order. She even asked if she was calling the right number. So she literally called and the phone rang, just to humor this employee. It was horrible customer service. Why are you questioning your customer?

Fast forward to today (it's literally Thursday) and they still have trouble finding her order. It took them 10 minutes, they didn't have the writing my friend requested on it and they didn't honor the 30% off. The guy offered 20%. It's really disappointing. Not only did we have to reschedule multiple times (the second time they said they were closing early), but to be questioned about an order they confirmed multiple times? You should train your employees better.

Raspberry Donut: Fabulous! Although they need to work on texture to make it a pillowy less and less greasy the design and taste of great one of the best donut I had in Chicago

Yuzu Pie: Great! Flaky with familiar yet strange tangy flavor

Curry Croquette: Highly recommended!!! After the first bite I couldn’t put it down and when finished I was crying that why we didn’t order more

Garlic Sausage Block: Great! The bread could be less sweeter but let’s accept it we live in the US

Muddy Bun: Recommend with tea! I expected a soft texture but it had a flaky crispy texture

Literally could not have had more tepid and apathetic service. Me: “hey do people like the roll cakes?” Guy at the counter “um, yeah I guess. They’re all right”. And just went back to looking at his phone.

I went to the pastry case to grab a treat for myself and asked if they can heat it up to get a barely audible “over there” and a nod to the toaster oven. I’m fine heating it up by myself but please don’t act put upon for asking.

When I got back guy at counter was on his phone so girl at counter rolled her eyes and rang me up

The cake box ended up popping open while I was walking the cake back to my car in the rain so he literally couldn’t close the box with enough energy

I just honestly hated this interaction so much. Maybe this is an awful place to work that sucks your soul. Cakes look good but there are a million places in the city you can pay $50 for premade cake and most of them don’t make you feel like an jerk for...
