Please try this place! So delicious, comforting, and inviting! Truly a hidden gem, rest assured: ⭐️ Every dish was tasty and well-seasoned. I especially loved their coconut milk fish stew. The goat stew and chicken stew were exceptionally tender and flavorful.Oh, and their oxtail comes highly recommended, though they were sold out today. ⭐️ The servers were really nice, took the time to answer our questions about the dishes, and even gave us small cups of drinks to sample. I believe we were the only ones that did not speak Spanish so she made sure we were taken care of! ⭐️ Seriously affordable, we ordered four main dishes, and with tax and tip it only came to $20 per person.
👉🏼 Pescado con coco (Coconut Milk Fish Stew) A must-try! The fish is tender and flavorful, paired with a rich coconut milk sauce. The sweetness of the coconut blends perfectly with the freshness of the fish. And the serving is so generous! Hard to believe it's only $16.
👉🏼 Goat Stew A must-try! The goat meat is incredibly tender, aromatic, and free of any gamey taste. Served with a huge portion of cassava.
👉🏼 Morir Sanando Dominican national drink, a mix of fresh orange juice, milk, and sugar. Full of citrus and creamy flavors, we ordered it with less sugar, so it was sweet but not overly so.
👉🏼 Mondongo (Tripe Soup) Richly flavored, the use of spices and lime was just right, making the soup base delicious. The tripe was tender yet chewy, best enjoyed with rice. Some people might not like the "barnyard" smell but I was pretty ok with that.
👉🏼 Chicken Stew The texture was great, with chicken stewed until tender, thoroughly absorbing the flavors of the spices.
⭐️ Conclusion: Just go for it, too many good points to repeat. ⭐️ Environment: The restaurant is small with about ten tables, quite simple but charming with a large mural depicting Dominican identity and culture. ⭐️ Service: The servers were very friendly, and since we were the only non-Latina there, they gave us...
