Well this is the first time coming here and this is recommended at my neighbor who works here as one of the line Chefs. Anyways this is a local modern cafe in Hermosa community were I live and had made this a bucket list to try their Cuban sandwiches and their coconut lavender latte. I also saw they had Beignets which I ordered as a dessert since this ended up being a brunch. Anyways the coffee was delicious. It was supposedly strong in caffeine but I didn't feel it. I had stopped drinking fancy coffee for some time since my diet and was cutting back on certain foods and beverages. The coffee was fresher and better than something like Starbucks. I hate to use this as a comparison when Starbucks was a new trend in coffee back in the 90s but it's not a big chain either which makes it tasteful in regards to local roasting. The staff member Pierre gave me a demonstration and tour in their room where they locally roast their proprietary coffee. as for their Cuban sandwiches it was delicious. The way they toasted the bread was just the right texture, crispy, with the pork they cook which was not dry. They ask the customer if they want hot sauce and I do recommend using the 2 hot sauces they bring out. The green one is spicy while the red one is milder which is what I like more. The Beignets were good but not a "wow" great. They made them smaller but compared to Cafe Du Monde that I had in both New Orleans and the package to make it was a little heavier in texture, taste and somewhat dry compared to Cafe DU Monde beignets. All in all I had a good and educational dining experience eating there for brunch. Also have a happy hello to my neighbor working that day and shared my feedback or experience. 4 out of 5 stars because of the expectations on a Beignets. Will come back for the avocado toast and a coffee again

I recently visited Tasa, and I have to say, this place is a gem! Their coffee is absolutely top-notch, with a rich aroma and smooth flavor that makes it the perfect way to start the day. The baristas clearly know their craft, and every sip is a delight. I also tried two of their sandwiches, and it was just as impressive. Fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and served warm—it was the ideal pairing with my coffee. The menu has a great variety, so there's something for everyone, whether you're in the mood for a light snack or something more filling. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a modern yet comfortable decor that makes it a great spot to relax or catch up on work. The seating is ample, and the space is beautifully designed, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Plus, the convenient parking means you don’t have to stress about finding a spot, which is a huge bonus in this area. What really stands out is how Tasa feels like a true addition to the community. It’s the kind of place where you can see regulars chatting with the staff, and there’s a real sense of warmth and connection. It’s not just another coffee shop; it’s a place that brings people together. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or planning to stay a while, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a must-visit!

This has been a coffee shop I been wanting to visit. Just last week, was around the area and decided to have a cup of coffee. First impression entering TASA was amazing. The atmosphere was earthy. It is decorated in a calming tones (greenery, wood chairs and tables, light shelves). It was very calming and welcoming. I was greeted by two amazing young ladies. I requested recommendations on which drink to have. I tried the Horchata Cold Brew and my guest tried a cappuccino. The Horchata Cold Brew was amazing with perfect balanced taste. I also ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Chorizo Avocado Toast with an egg on top. The Chorizo was very tasty and had great flavors with the egg on top. The Cuban sandwich had all the expected meat slow roasted pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese (melted) mustard and pickles. It had great flavors and taste wonderful. I saw people enjoying working on there computer while enjoying a cup if coffee. I was satisfied and happy when leaving this oasis. If you haven’t tried it, you need to come and experience it personally.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars

I visited Tasa for a Chicago Latina Chicas event, and it was an amazing experience!

Atmosphere & Space: • Plenty of tables and seating, making it a great spot to sit and enjoy your coffee. • In the back, they have a coffee mill (or corn mill?) display, which is a pretty cool touch! • Kid-friendly? It depends on your little one. There’s not much for kids to do, so I’d say you can hang out for 5-10 minutes max unless your child enjoys quiet coffee shop settings.

Drinks & Food: • The coffee? WOW. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5—strong, smooth, and well-balanced. • I tried the latte, mocha, and matcha—all 5/5. Definitely recommend! • Tamales? Incredible. Soft, flavorful, and a must-try. 5/5.

Merch & Pricing: • They also sell merch, which is super cute—earthy tones, nothing too flashy, just minimal and stylish. • Pricing is comparable to Starbucks, if not slightly more affordable. And to be honest… I think it’s better than Starbucks. Oops, I said it. šŸ˜‰

Parking & Accessibility: • Parking is the only downside. It’s on a main street, so finding a spot can be a hassle.

Final Verdict:

If you’re a coffee lover, Tasa is a must-visit. From the incredible coffee to the cozy ambiance and delicious tamales, this place is a hidden gem. Just be prepared for the parking challenge!
