3 stars = 4 stars for the food and 2 stars for the slow service. Takoyaki was really good. I think it was the best takoyaki we had in Chicago with big chunks of 'tako' inside, not one of those thin, barely noticeable frozen takos. $11 for 5 pieces, seems a bit pricey but was on today's special price for $8 and was worth it even at regular price. Then the slow service was more noticeable. We had to wait for 20 minutes after the takoyaki dish (based on the time I took the food pictures) for a single specialty roll to be served. I wasn't too impressed as the shrimp tempura inside the roll was super crunchy and good but I couldn't taste the torched tuna part that I expected. I think it's average Chicago sushi restaurant quality. Another 20 minutes pass and we have the chirashi. The miso soup that was supposed to come with it came before takoyaki with drinks and it was long gone by then. The sashimi pieces were... disappointing at best, maybe one of the most disappointing chirashi bowl I've seen. For the price, I would not recommend. At this point, it's been about an hour or more and I still have not been served nigiri. I talked to both the server and the manager. Waited a few more minutes and when they came again I asked if I can cancel the order if they hadn't started making them. She said they are almost complete then I was finally served the nigiris. This was 15 minutes after we received the chirashi bowl. The nigiri pieces (Hamachi, salmon, uni, and spicy scallops) are comparable to sushi buffets... not impressive at all for about $5/piece. Would not recommend. We finished the meal it's been about 2 hours in this restaurant with 3-4 tables of 2-3 people per table. slow service and messed up order. They apologized for the delay. I asked for a check. The "today's special" prices for the wine and takoyaki appetizer were calculated at regular price. They fixed the price and brought the new bill but did not apologize for this error. Had I not checked it, I wouldn't have known that they tried to overcharge for the food and the poor and slow service. 3 stars.

Was visiting Chicago and found this spot. When we got there it seemed like a cool sushi spot and I was really looking forward to it. The drinks were not that good. They tasted very sugary. The appetizers were good, but the service was terrible. Our waitress, Jess who was also the restaurant manager was terrible. She barely checked on our table. We were waiting there almost two hours before our one sushi roll came out. Then the next rolls came out about 20 minutes later and the waitress who brought it out didn’t even know what roll it was. It should be noted that tables that arrived after us were getting all their rolls before us, and not one at a time they were getting multiple rolls at once. It was at this time I asked our waitress Jess to cancel the remaining rolls and to give me the check. First she said she had to check with kitchen to see if she could cancel the rolls. Which is ridiculous if a customer wants to cancel an order they can, that’s how any other normal restaurant is ran. Then magically our remaining rolls were suddenly ready, and they said they couldn’t cancel them but they could pack them up to go for us. Then Jess said why don’t you want the rolls and why do you need to leave, do you have an emergency? I explained it was the service, I didn’t feel like going back and forth with the restaurant manager so I just paid the bill and left. If they are that hard pressed where they can’t cancel three rolls, let them have it. Based on the their customer service they won’t be in business much longer anyway. The sushi itself was decent, but the customer service was terrible. They need to hire a real restaurant manager that knows how to properly run a restaurant, if they want any chance at being successful

A 5 star experience if I’ve ever had one! From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere. Girls night(party of 3) was an absolute delight, a large thanks to these three factors. We came upon this restaurant on TikTok & were immediately sold by the idea of fusion, & were not disappointed. We booked via OpenTable a few days before, & were met at the hostess stand with smiles & kindness. We were immediately sat and given menus & water.

Our waitress, Jessie, who also revealed to us that she is co-owner with her husband— who is head chef— was kind and informative. She laid out specials & drink recommendations. Our drinks were brought out to us in a timely manner, & they were delicious! We all ordered margaritas, with specialty flavors such as passion fruit & pink dragon fruit(in keeping with Barbie week).

Jessie told us a little bit about the restaurant and its history, which enhanced our experience even more. We felt valued as customers & even more so when the food came out. The combination of Latin music, a Japanese atmosphere, & a modern kick gave this ambience a 5 star.

We ordered lobster wontons, which came out hot & fresh. Soon after, our total of 4 rolls came out. If you know anything about sushi, you know it’s hard to order 4 different rolls and everyone enjoy them ALL. We all agreed that if and when we return, we’d easily order every roll again.

The meal was filling, the drinks were great(I ordered a mocktail, & it didn’t disappoint) & the service was phenomenal. The co-owner and head chef even came out as our food was being served. They did NOT miss the mark in regard to fusion. Overall 10/10 experience, and we are absolutely coming again!
