I planned for my husband and friends to try out the Insane Asylum Room. This particular room is rated "expert". However, we thought we were pretty smart group, and would give it a try. We got through with 9 minutes to spare, with a few hints from the Gamemaster. It was challenging, however there were a few clues that, I believe need to be revised. Disclaimer: this may be a spoiler to clues. First, the maze table. The chain is too short. The make of the table is not designed for short arms and very difficult for longer arms. The magnet is not strong enough and too much time was spent trying to get the object to move. Secondly, to hear the devil was almost impossible to hear over the overhead sound effects. Thirdly, the 2x2 clue. I bet, that most people need help with that clue. And lastly, the drawer clue, definitely needs to be redone. We all opened and closed the drawer at some point and did not notice the clue. I am aware that this room was titled "expert", and the clues would be more challenging and probably for those who visit mystery rooms as a hobby. However, some of clues mentioned above, could only be solved if there was a cheat sheet of some sort. Overall, we still had fun and we worked well as a team. I also would like to suggest shorter clue rooms that last only 1/2 an hour. My group enjoyed the game and wanted to do another. However, we just did not want to do another game that would take another hour. If we could have done 2 games that totaled a hour, that would have been great! Also, if we wanted to try another room, there needs to a reservation to hold the room. We did not inquire if there was another...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago. We took the kids to PanIQ Escape Room and did the prison themed room and it was a total hit for the whole family. The experience was incredibly well run from start to finish. It was clean, organized, professional, and full of energy and fun.
The prison setup was immersive and just the right balance of challenging and exciting. The puzzles made us think but were designed in a way that everyone, even the kids, could get involved and feel like part of the team. It was a great way to work together and share a lot of laughs along the way.
Special shoutout to Alex, our host, who truly made the experience what it was. From the moment we walked in, he was welcoming, enthusiastic, and great with the kids. He knew just when to step in with a helpful nudge and kept things moving without giving too much away. You could tell he genuinely wanted us to have a great time.
We’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in town and we’re bringing more family with us. Highly recommend PanIQ for anyone looking for a fun and memorable group...
Read moreMy party had a bad experience here. We arrived early as the website prompted us to do so and when we got here the door was locked. It was every bit of 20 degrees outside in Chicago. We rang the doorbell twenty times and got to answer for about fifteen minutes freezing. My party was starting to think we had been gotten over on and so was I. Finally the hostess comes up to open the door and one of my party members tells her “we’ve been ringing the doorbell forever, did you hear it?” The hostess had an attitude and responded “just go downstairs” I responded with “you can’t talk like that” she said “we never pay attention to the doorbell”. That didn’t make any sense to me. We get to the room and start a little late and the. The hint button doesn’t work so the hostess got us walkee talkees. That took every bit of ten minutes. So we’re down on time and couldn’t finish our exercise. We ask for the time we lost and we were denied by the hostess. This was terrible customer service and I wouldn’t point anyone in the direction of this PanIQ...
