Wen Cai Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Mrs. Crespo: My husband asked me to give this place a try off reviews... We're a Spicy full household so trying new places is hard... Family of 7 so we order XL... In the past yrs started eating better... So clean and fresh tastes are important... At first was a bit iffy per the size of the wings... But then took into account the freshness of their food, taste and quality... We loved the flavor of everything... Crispy, not greasy... Extra soy blended perfectly into the rice... The egg foo young was fluffy and full, best looking sauce I've ever seen... It was smooth thick with a slight cream soup feel... Not jelly like... Not many places offer No Shell S&P Shrimp, love that they have the option with or without... No food coma zombies after, full but didn't feel gross... Delivery was on point... She said 45 minutes... In fact it was 45 minutes, including the 3 minutes it took me to give my order... A sweet older man delivered my order... The taste of the food reminded us of a China Buffet off Pulaski and Wellington.. Family owned, it was our wkly spot for over 20yrs... They watched me age into adulthood and watched my oldest 3 grow.. They've been closed for time now... But you're food reminds us of there... We'll be ordering again... Planning to stop for dine...

I love Wen Cai but they REALLY need to work on the customer service. First I want to say we always order large orders because we are a big family. However they never honor their menu. Once we ordered 4 dinners and asked if she can give us our waters. She wanted to charge us the waters. Also not to mention she also didn’t honor the over $40 get the free crab rangoon. Every other Chinese restaurant immediately after spending a certain amount of money and they tell you “ hey you spent over x amount, do you want A or B (whatever they offer) Wen Cai never does this, despite being on their menu. It’s just sad honestly they don’t appreciate returning customers. Like I stated we are a big family so we always spend over $50 bucks for sure. Regardless, their food is pretty good just wished they would work on their customers service. A question becomes offense to them...

My husband and I came to this establishment as we were starving while shopping across the street and i was craving chinese food. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food is here. Very hot and freshly made to order and it tasted very good. The egg roll was one of the best i’ve had and pretty big in size compared to other egg rolls. The inside of the location was very small and hot! We ate in the car as we were sweating just standing there waiting for our order. I got the chicken lo mein lunch special and he got the triple delight spicy. Will definitely be returning and trying...
