for years I used to be a regular customer of the Augustino's in Carol Stream IL. My family would actually get take out there, bring it home for parties, get-togethers, birthday parties etc. etc. I recently went to the Augustino's in West Chicago IL. anticipating the same experience. I asked for an American sub, which I could not eat until a little later, since I live so many miles away now, when I got home, I opened it up and it was an Italian sub with a massive amount of onions on it, I can't eat onions, it was $18 for a sub with the fries, no drink I was very disappointed... The experience as well was different from the original restaurant, its twin Store, where they used to have glass, where you could watch everything they did and how they made the food. Here it was like waiting at an McDonald's... It had a nice decorative atmosphere I will admit. It was all done up with nostalgic mimicry, and old-timey music to match.

Read moreWas driving through the area and saw this place. We brought $35 worth of cold food after waiting 15 minutes in drive through. Very disappointed! Fries cooked in old cooking oil. Very nasty and cold. I called the restaurant about the beef sandwich in particular and explained this was not what I ordered and was told by management they would replace it when I was in the area again. Showed up to get replacement and was told I need a receipt of purchase. I explained that I didn’t have it but did have my bank statement. Offer to show my bank statement and was denied. Food is very expensive to be served cold and the customer service is poor. I was so excited about the gluten free buns option for the beef and would have love to really try it but they didn’t dip it as asked or add cheese and peppers as requested although I paid for it.
