Tokyo Buffet — Restaurant in West Columbia

If I could give a lower star...I would. This place IS HORRIBLE. Ordered hibachi steak and shrimp, filet mignon and shrimp and a shrimp tempura roll. They called 40 minutes after placing the order to tell me there is no filet, can they substitute steak? Fine...medium well? Yes. Food arrives 2 hours after ordering...steak is hard as a rock. Tempura roll is advertised as having shrimp, avocado and cucumber. NOPE...jelly like shrimp with a glob of cream cheese. NASTY!! I call them and then proceed to argue with them for the next three hours about the fact that my card will be refunded in 5 days...But they are coming out to get the food. Fine...come get it, but you're bringing cash because I do not know you therefore I do not trust that my money will be refunded. So if you are coming to get the food, I am fine with that because it is inedible, but you will refund my money IMMEDIATELY. Nope...they keep calling and arguing with me. Meanwhile, my son and I are waiting for them to come get their food...so we cannot go out and get something else. RIDICULOUS!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT...

Great place to eat. Clean and huge variety of food for a reasonable price. I went with my niece and friend after 3:30pm on a Thursday. shortly after being seated, we noticed new items being added to the buffet. Obviously we assumed it was a part of the buffet and took some. But we were promptly approached by the staff that the items we got was for the dinner buffet and not the lunch buffet. Apparently, the dinner buffet started at 4:00pm of which we were not informed. We were given the choice to either keep the items of food intended for dinner and pay the higher price or return the items and pay the lower lunch price.Of course, since we had not started eating the food, we decided on the lower price and the staff took the food we had already brought to our table away. I think they should have let us keep the food already on the table for the lower lunch price since we were not informed about the time the dinner items would be placed on the buffet or what items were for dinner. Some sort of distinction need to be made. But I enjoyed the food and atomsphere and will dine...

If there was an option for negative five stars I would have definitely chosen that rating. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in my life. The service was nonexistent and we were only two of five people dining in. Now, about the cuisine...there is an insufficient adjective to describe the quality and quantity of the food and selection. I'm pretty sure the food at the buffet was prepared well before the pandemic and has just been sitting under a heat lamp since. The shrimp was so hard that it was more like eating a mix between bubble gum and plastic with a dash of cardboard to top it all off. The best thing there was the sweet tea and you have to chase someone down to get a refill. There was only one row of food and tbh I've eaten better meals eating an expired jar of peanut butter once, lol sad but true. Now that I'm home and trying to relax it feels like two ninjas are having a death match in my stomach. So in closing, only eat at this facility if you are daring enough to walk the ticket but even then, you still wouldn't get your money's...
