Brunching at Gypsy Saloon in Conshohocken, PA, isn't just a meal; it's a culinary carnival where every bite is a ride, and boy, did we buckle up for an adventure. With the in-laws in town, the stakes were as high as a pancake stack, and Gypsy Saloon didn't just deliver; they flipped expectations like, well, pancakes.
Enter the Pancake Board, a platter so grand it deserves its own zip code. With eight fluffy buttermilk pancakes playing host to a parade of applewood smoked bacon, bananas, fresh berries, and an ensemble of maple syrup and seasonal jam, it's less of a dish and more of a breakfast buffet on a board. This isn't just a meal; it's a strategic alliance against hunger.
The Breakfast Quesadilla? Imagine a traditional cheesesteak got lost on its way to Philly and stumbled into a brunch fiesta. Sautéed onions, scrambled eggs, avocado, and a dollop of chipotle mayo wrapped in a warm embrace of tortilla. It's the culinary equivalent of a group hug, with a side of gypsy breakfast potatoes that could start a spud uprising.
And then there's the Crab Cake Benny, a twist on the Eggs Benedict that's so good, it could broker world peace. Poached eggs perched atop crab cakes like royalty, draped in old bay hollandaise sauce and nestled on a bed of baby arugula and an English muffin. It's surf and turf, with a side of sophistication and breakfast potatoes.
Let's not forget the Steak & Eggs, a dish that answers the age-old question: "What if my steak had a sleepover with breakfast?" Two eggs, any style, keeping company with a 10oz ribeye steak, sautéed spinach, and an English muffin, all dressed in béarnaise sauce. It's a dish that's so well put together, it could run for office.
The atmosphere? It's like your cool aunt's living room if your cool aunt was a seasoned world traveler with eclectic taste in décor and an open-door policy for fun. And the service? Imagine being waited on by someone who's not just serving food but serving joy. That's the Gypsy Saloon experience.
In short, Gypsy Saloon in Conshohocken is where you take your in-laws when you want to impress them without trying too hard. It's effortlessly cool, delightfully delicious, and the only place where you can have your pancake and eat it too. Five stars for turning what could have been a typical brunch into an...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to Gypsy for over a decade. My husband and I had some of our very first dates here, anniversary celebrations, and we’ve even brought our toddler here. We’ve only had outstanding service and over the top delicious food/drinks.
I decided to introduce some of my girlfriends to Gypsy last night and we had a fabulous time! The outside atmosphere was adorable! Lots of heat lamps even though we didn’t even need them! Such a beautiful night in Conshy! What restaurant have you been to where the owner not only seats you as the hostess but also refills your water glass? You will immediately feel like your walking into her home and you’re a guest of honor.
The restaurant business is one of the hardest businesses out there to work in and to survive in; especially during a pandemic. Gypsy has re-invented themselves to keep the magic it brings to Conshy alive. They are always running lots of special menus, charity events (during non Covid), holiday catering menus, and they give back to the community at every opportunity. I am constantly seeing them donate food to healthcare workers, the homeless, and families who are in need. They even donated brand new dog toys from PetsMart when I was collecting dog toys for a local SPCA a while back.
Support a small business and the employees that work there. We don’t want a world only filled with chain restaurants.

Read moreFood is good but service was horrible. We got there around 7pm on a Saturday night. Got seated right away which was great. Ordered drinks and waited 20 min before asking the waiter where our drinks were, he said he forgot to order them. Then we wanted to put in an appetizer order and were told that we needed to put in the entire order for apps and dinner at one time so already feeling like we were being rushed out. No sooner do we finish our apps and our plates were taken and our dinner is being sat down in front of us. We barely touched it because we had no time to digest any of the appetizers. We then get a second round of drinks and the dessert menu is placed in front of us. The owner comes up to us after a few minutes and says “did you want dessert? I just want to make sure it gets ordered before your time is up.” We weren’t sure what she meant by that so we just kept enjoying the atmosphere and each other’s company. No sooner after that the own comes back up to us and says “we needed you out by 8 and it’s a little after 8 o’clock now, other people are waiting for a table.” I couldn’t believe that! We were never once told that we were on a time limit for dinner or we would have left before being seated as we were out on a rare date night and never get alone time! We spent over $150 on apps, dinner, and drinks, and got rushed out of there in one hour. Absolutely horrible service and we will never return there. Don’t waste your time or money unless you like to be in and out in under an hour. They love to claim how they have live music and all, but you can’t sit there and enjoy it...
