Legends, sports bar and Grill is inside the Marriott West Philadelphia it doubles at night for a restaurant and then in the morning this is where they have their breakfast for the guests depending on your Marriott Bonvoy status you get complementary breakfast as an ambassador, titanium, elite or platinum member it’s a nice perk, I admit And at first glance it is a nice looking spread. They had bacon and sausage at different times in the morning they had eggs, potatoes, oatmeal spread of yogurt fruits, some pastries, but upon tasting that’s kind of false flat. The bacon didn’t really have a fresh taste, although it was crispy, the texture was perfect. The taste was sort of like it was old the oatmeal was the same way And the pastries probably were just bought somewhere locally and put out the staff however, just like the hotel was very nice big smiles, big personalities, welcoming as if your family came around asked if you needed anything often enough but not too much and they were quick to take away any dirty dishes, or empty containers or glasses, and ask if you want refills I did actually have some wings here last night. I forgot to capture the pictures the taste of the sauce Good and the presentation was good but just like this morning the taste was like the chicken was kind of old. It just didn’t taste fresh now I got the Asian garlic mix with the hot and it was the perfect temp and flavor if it wouldn’t have been for that I don’t even know if I could’ve eaten them I didn’t eat the skin I felt like maybe that was worth the old taste was coming from I just ate the chicken and the sauce was really good. I’ll give them credit for that and I had a glass of Cabernet, and just like the morning the bartenders and host and waiter waitresses were all very nice very accommodating quite get quite busy in the evenings as people are checking in and coming back from dinners and coming in and just having a nightcap nice spot. very sports bar. Lots of sport memorabiliaand like I said the area that you said in for breakfast for the titanium ambassador and platinum status is very nice nice walk out veranda overlooking the grounds, but it falls...
Read moreI've eaten here before and didn't have much of an issue. Today however I was disappointed in the place. They have a sign in the front informing you to wait to be seated by the host. We waited for about 10 mins then once someone saw us they told us to come down to the end of the bar and then was asked what we wanted. I mentioned that we were just following what the 2 signs stated which was to wait to be seated by the host then was asked, you want the bar or the menu. Needless to say, the initial experience was a turn off. The server was ok. I ordered 2 appetizers of which one was the cauliflower. I tasted 1 piece and found that I did not like the dish at all. We waited for the server to comflr back to our table which was about 20 mins later and I informed him that I did like the dish and would like it removed from the bill. He stated he would take it back but then he was informed by someone that it could not be removed from the bill and I had to in fact pay for something that I did not like. He then asked what do you want me to do with the meal and I responded throw it away. I didnt like it so i am not eating it but im being forced to pay for it. I've never experienced this before when I did not like a meal after my initial taste. Now I can understand if I ate a third of the meal but this was not the case. Needless to say DO NOT order anything if you are not certain that you will enjoy it. Oh and if you are looking for a good quick option this is definitely not the place.
UPDATE: Since I was staying at the hotel, I received a call from Marriott's Manager later that evening who apologized for the inconvenience and removed the cost for the unwanted meal. She expressed that there was a miscommunication with a new employee who didn't realize the unwanted meal (if barely eaten) could be refunded. I appreciate Marriott's assistance with this even though I didn't not ask them to as I believe they are...
Read moreWent over the weekend for a Halloween event downtown. Went to the bar. Waitress was god awful, extremely rude, asked 1 of 3 of us what we wanted to drink. Said bottled beer and she walked away from the other 2 without asking what they wanted. The one shouted the other 2 orders as she was walking away. Brought back 3 beers, didn’t bother putting napkin down for underneath the drink. Bar was not packed at all. We asked her name and she said something other than what was on her name tag. She was so ignorant, thankfully another bar tender came on and I flagged her down wanting to start a separate tab with mixed drinks. They were pricy yet delicious and she was sweet and I gladly tipped her generously. The rude bartender lady asked her what we were drinking and the gal told her I started a separate Tab with her. The rude bartender who faked her name was a tall African American woman. The next morning we were going to have a Bloody Mary and walked right out as she was there again. We had to go in and ask for cream for the complimentary coffee and she snapped… it’s on the buffet. We had to tell her it was empty. As expected, had a big chip on her shoulder, brought it back and snapped.. you can’t take that out of here. We were like, duh, we aren’t. Marriott should fire her. As I’m writing this review, my sister just got out of her chair to find a day old stiff hard pretzel on her chair. Do better! Fire the rude, lying, miserable bartender. You are loosing business having her. She has no business being a bartender let alone...
