Bistro Filipino Los Angeles — Restaurant in West Covina

A little disappointed. I took my parents here today (December 30, 2022) after watching a review on YouTube. The beef cadereta and the lechon paksiw was very good. The Kare-Kare was decent. The service behind the counter was awful though. The place was not busy (only three tables were occupied, includes ours) and it was lunch time. The good buffet items were not getting filled, even the water service was empty. There were no desserts or even the usual Filipino drinks available. Additionally, on the vlog the owner said there was a discount being offered if we mentioned the vlog or the vlogger; the response we got was "we are not familiar with that discount." We don't have any Filipino buffets in Orange County and driving as far as West Covina for one, not...

I was not expecting much from this small Filipino AYCE buffet, but the food really caught me by surprise with how delicious it was. The beef calderata was my favorite as both the beef and vegetables were tender and flavorful and went perfectly with the rice. They were hosting a private event for a graduation party and they did an amazing job decorating the place just for the event. The owner was so kind and patient with us as we enjoyed the night with karaoke and music. She smiled while catering to our needs and deserves more customers. The store itself offers a stage, a built in PA system (for all of your karaoke needs), and an open-air patio on the side making it a great spot for private events to be held. Had old sour food last time I was here with an unfriendly cashier and I got sick. Gave them another chance today; first was mediocre, the cashier was even worse. She did not give me my card after I paid. While I was still eating for 1 plus hours in their buffet, she never thought to ask me if the card found by another customer (FYI, only 2 customers for hours), was mine. When I discovered it was missing, I was somewhere else. I called her abd she said that it is my fault and that I left it. I asked her why she never asked me if I left my card for the length of time I ate ther, she said "It's your fault. You left it" over and over". Never again will I eat here.
