Review for Tacos Gavilan
Tacos Gavilan is a standout among fast food Mexican restaurants, offering a delightful variety of classic Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Conveniently located near a freeway exit/entrance, it's a perfect stop for a quick and satisfying meal on the go.
My go-to order is the quesadilla with carne asada. It’s consistently delicious, with perfectly seasoned and juicy meat nestled in a warm, cheesy tortilla. Every time I order it, I'm reminded why it's my favorite. The cabeza is another highlight—tender and flavorful, it’s a must-try for anyone looking to explore beyond the usual offerings.
The takeout process at Tacos Gavilan is seamless. Orders are prepared swiftly, making it an excellent choice for those in a hurry. Despite the fast-paced environment, the staff maintains a friendly and efficient demeanor, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
Inside, the vibes are always good. Whether you're dining in or picking up, the ambiance is inviting, and the service is consistently top-notch. The workers are quick, friendly, and manage to keep the energy positive even during busy times.
In summary, Tacos Gavilan excels in delivering quality Mexican fast food with remarkable consistency. The friendly staff, speedy service, and inviting atmosphere make it a top choice for both quick meals and...
Read moreIf you can get to it, it's worth the effort. I say that because unless you are coming south on Azusa Ave, there's no easy access to Tacos El Gavilan in West Covina. If you are coming from the west, you can only enter from north of the adjacent gas station, through the back alley. Oh, did I mention they have much less parking than they need? That means the alley becomes one way at a time due to folks parking on the side. Also, be very careful in the parking area as there is very little room and someone in a rush pulling out only have a few feet before the collide with anyone that happens to be going by. This was the first time I've tried any Tacos El Gavilan. The have good Mexican food for a decent price. There is a much larger than normal choice of meats so be prepared to spend a moment picking what you want. They give huge helpings so don't over order. You won't go away hungry even if all you order is a quesadilla. The condiments bar is one of the most fully stocked I've ever seen. I'd say they are worth a second visit to sample a few more items and should go on my list of good local...
Read moreThis place is almost like going to King Taco without the problems. Its gotta be a family member who went on his own because everything is all too familiar by the way the menu is set up and the way you order and pick up your food. The asada is not marinated like king taco but they offer limes which king taco will not give you limes. The people here speak English first which is good for most. They have a whole salsa bar that you put your own toppings on. They even offer free pinto beans that are delicious. Another great thing about this place is Free refills. No more of that barley making it ghetto mentality of 50 cents a refill. I love this place. Food is good. People look more friendly, clean inside. Restrooms available to everyone. About time someone takes something good and makes it's better. Iam done with King Taco. They may not care but I use to spend about $40 a week there just for myself. That's $160 less a month...
