Shy Bar — Restaurant in West Fargo

We’ve been twice now at different times of day. It was great today at lunch. We’ve come to the conclusion that if you order as simple as possible the food is good. We liked the cheese curds both times and have decided that we like the shy burger and flat fries best. The buns are nicely toasted and the burgers are cooked well. The first time I had one of the specialty burgers; it was undercooked and the toppings weren’t very flavorful. I didn’t like the cowboy beans, but that could just be me; the bacon flavor is overwhelming and they got a little sickening. That first time was in an evening and they were very busy. We sat at a low table by the door and weren’t greeted for over 20 minutes. Today was completely different; our server was very friendly and attentive and we were greeted right away. I waited a long time for a server to acknowledge that I was at the table but it wasn't my server it was a server from another section that noticed us sitting there for a long time. I ordered a burger and it came with no condiments and there were none on the table. I asked my server for some mustard and then waited until my food was almost cold and flagged my server down and asked for mustard again. I was told that she had to order it from the kitchen and I would have to wait. My burger was cooked in about as much time as it took to get mustard. When It finally came I put it on my burger and took a bite only to find out that it was honey mustard which ruined the flavor of the burger. On top of that I was charged for the mustard. My wife and I walked in on our weekly date night because we hadn't been here yet. Our server greeted us in a reasonable amount of time, but then ignored us for half an hour.

We sat long enough to decide to not get food after being excited to try their offerings and struggled to choose our meals because there are so many intriguing options.

Once we noticed the lack of attention, we started paying attention and our server wasn't just ignoring our table, but all others that she was working.

Edit: another table just had to walk up to the server stand to place a food order. The service here needs to be more attentive OR they need to let patrons know to flag their servers down.

All in all, we'll be back because the menu and atmosphere are too good to pass up, but for now, the service we received is...
