The fact that a Chinese restaurant is nearby where I live THAT MAKES BAO FROM SCRATCH, is a blessing. Also, this place is 1000% gluten-free friendly! I heard from West Hartford Buzz about this place opening up and when I read about how they make bao, I was immediately hooked. My girlfriend and I stopped by yesterday for dinner with enough time until our 7 PM showing for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. Firstly, I underestimated the size of them! Each bao will fill you up nicely. Secondly, the pork and beef bao we ordered were nothing short of perfection. You can tell that they were made with love. The owner was a kind and warm gentleman who got my girlfriend I settled into our table nicely. The place is chill, warm, and no frills. This place is such a great find! As someone who is gluten-free, it is rare to find a place especially dumplings if at all, that are tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely more of a take out place, but they also have dine in options. They have 100% dedicated equipment to prevent cross contamination for celiacs, and all of their dumplings as well as other food options are made by hand, with a lot of love put into them. I want to advise that there might be a longer wait as you can tell they are a small family owned business with few staff in the back and they are adjusting still so I would be mindful and gracious. Very happy I finally craved Chinese food so I can visit Gold Dumpling in WEHA, right on Park Rd. Such a wonderful addition to have! Now I can have Gluten free Bao!! Whoohoo!! They have a regular menu and then the GF menu . Same options. It’s very simple. 4 tables , many people order to go because it’s very small in the restaurant. Service is great! Friendly, helpful.
