Chip City — Restaurant in West Hartford

Updated Review (January 2025): This location has been open for roughly 9 months and I've never been disappointed by a visit. Haven't been able to visit in awhile, but I received a warm welcome today and cookies were perfect per usual.

Original Review (April 2024): I've gone twice (edit: four times!) since Chip City's opening and have been very happy with my experiences. Cookies are big and dense. They weigh more than Crumbl's. They're crispy on the outside and soft and thick on the inside. I heard an employee mention that fresh ones are baked hourly. All my cookies have been deliciously warm. It seems like several of the flavors are swapped every week. I noticed 3 were the same between my two visits (edit: cookies & cream and s'mores have been there every time I've gone, the rest have rotated). Very different from Crumbl's style of cookie and I love it - more like a traditional cookie where Crumbl's can be more cakey. My family of 5 came in today. We had seen the website all the flavors to choose from but when we arrived there were few options. I was really expecting them to have at least some chocolate chip cookies, it was only 2 o’clock, so it was really unfortunate that they didn’t have many cookie options. Would have really liked them chocolate chip cookies they only had the thin ones available and only 4 of them. We asked if there was more in the back baking or coming out soon but we were told there were only dairy free and we’d still have to wait. Very disappointed because they were tasty. Wish we could’ve bought more. We only bought 6 cookies as there were other people in line and didn’t want to take all of them. Another customer walked out because they didn’t have options. First I would like to say I only found this place by a coincidence, in West Hartford center googling chocolate chip cookie near me. This place popped up, but I wasn’t certain of their location. I called and spoke with someone who gave me detailed directions. (I chose to walk over and my gps failed me)

Upon getting I asked who gave me the directions and it was Steve, the manager. He is beyond helpful, patient, and professional. He knows every detail of each cookie being prepared, which is important to me because I have a nut allergy.

I live in MA and came down three weekends in a row for cookies. Let’s just say they have a forever client.
