I really wish I could give this a higher rating because the waitress was really accommodating, so hospitality wise this place is great.
But I need to air some frustrations we had with the food. I've had bad meals before, but it stings a little more when it's for a special event and you're spending close to $100 per head.
I took my wife here for her birthday, and everything started off great. The hostess and waitress were both very kind, and they even gave us our own booth for the reservation. But that's pretty much where the pleasentries end. We ordered a cheese board which was fine, but very small. It included three cheeses, four pieces of bread, some fruit and nuts and we added prosciutto for an extra $5. It needed some sort of spread to go with it. Nothing was bad, but it was very small for the price of $22.
For dinner I had ordered the scallops ($37) and my wife had ordered the Salmon ($32). My scallops were solid, nothing too much to complain about there. But my wife's salmon is a very different story. The fish was okay but everything around it was flavorless. It needed salt and acid desperately. She didn't end up finishing it and has suffered from stomach issues into the next day. Not sure if it's food poisoning or cross contamination with shellfish, but either way, it's weird to have adverse reactions to the food from a higher end establishment.
Then for dessert, I ordered a gelato with an espresso and she ordered the cheesecake. Both had issues. The gelato was freezer burned, I was getting a lot of ice chips throughout. And the cheesecake was frozen in the middle. It did not come to temp at all and, once again, she wasn't able to finish it. The espresso was also poorly pulled, and just tasted burnt and too bitter.
All in all, the execution felt sloppy. Not what we would expect for a $200+ meal. And while I understand that there are off days, you will pay just as much on a Tuesday that would would a Friday. Very disappointing and won't be...

Read moreDecember 10. Bar service was great. Great drinks and a tasty crab cake. Restaurant and kitchen staff made for a very disappointing evening. First, seated in patio area and heater was blowing cold air. Very uncomfortable. Maintenance fixed problem, but not until our meal was over. Now for the kitchen. My wife ordered Trout Chioppino, and I ordered rabbit dish. Food was served and the fish was salmon (not trout) with tiny pieces of clams and other unidentifiable seafood pieces. Salmon sent to kitchen and server return with the salmon stating that kitchen said “it was in the same family” ????? Not acceptable, as salmon tastes entirely different from trout and my wife does not like salmon. Substituting main advertised fish with something without asking is not acceptable.? Oh, by the way, my rabbit tasted more like chicken than rabbit. Sauces on food was very good, but does not make up for the arrogance of this restaurant. Won’t be back. Serving staff are all very nice and attentive, but could be more pro-active. What happened to the business that would say “sorry we are out of trout would you accept salmon as a substitute”, rather than throw some other protein on the plate and see if the customer knows...
