Julius Peruvian Cuisine — Restaurant in West Hartford

We stumbled across Cevicheria Julius by accident. We were looking for Thai’s food we ate here a few years ago. The place just opened for a few months now. We didn’t know the type of food they serve until we talk to the waitress. Initially the waitress thought we were Spanish and spoke to us in Spanish. We were given the menu but couldn’t read any item. We ate Peruvian goods many times before and familiar with some of the menu items. We asked for an English speaking person and our waitress was fluent. She explained to us in details. The food was delicious. The chef went out and spoke to us. I would come here again and definitely will recommend to friends and families. We were surprised on a Friday night and my family was the only customer at the restaurant.

As a small business owner myself I would recommend the following: more lighting in front of the store to attract customers; target not only Spanish customers by advertising in English i.e Peruvian Food; offer menu with English translation if possibly; display more windows decal to attract cars driving by.

The table we sat at was near the restroom. The smells was really bad but it didn’t ruin our dinner. We would come again. The portions are just right and price...

Come here if you want to be absolutely disappointed. Right when we got there multiple bugs were attacking us. It took them over 30 minutes to ask us for our order and didn’t even start us off with drinks. Our cups were smelly and had stains. We couldn’t finish our water because of how bad it stunk. The ice bowl had dirt all over the bottom. Our food came out in under 5 minutes and the beef in our lomo saltado was cold, RAW, and literally bleeding after we specifically asked for well done. The rice in that plate was so hard and unable to chew. The ceviche was straight up water and tasteless. I’m Peruvian so this isn’t me just being petty, truly the food was not good. We got two plates and it was ridiculously expensive, just for the food to disappoint us. If I was able to rate them 0...

So disappointed 😞 this visit today. What a complete disaster 😪, made reservations for 3:30pm, we were seated and our waiter never came to greet us or even take our drink order. I had to ask someone to please take our order. Ordered our appetizers which took almost 45 minutes. No one came back to take our dinner order. Once again had to ask a waiter to please 🙏 take our dinner order. Then our food never came, waited 2 hours come to find out they forgot us. What a mother's day 🥺 , never again. They lost good customer on their poor customer service.
