My roommate comes here all the time, and even though I had just eaten shrimp scampi for lunch, she wanted to go here for dinner. I was going to get a salad and call it a night BUT that didn't happen. Instead, she told me she would order the penne a la vodka and that I could pick at it because the portions are massive. Literally they are huge! We both ate maybe half together, and then the other half I took for lunch today. The meal also came with soup and salad, which we were able to get one for each of us even with ordering only one meal, which was super generous of them. I believe our meal was $30 so while it sounds pricey, it's very similar to the family style where one plate is meant to be several meals. The portions are very large!
A friend dining with us also got a plate of mussels and let me try those as well. I am no seafood expert as I didn't grow up eating it, and I believe this was my first time eating mussels, but I probably ate like 15 of them easily. They were super delicious and the sauce was great too! Again, another massive portion and with it being mussels, she told me they aren't good the next day, so everyone had to help her out eating them.
The one thing that put this place extremely over the top for me was the service. We were seated at the bar, and whether it was a mistake or the lady was drunk, it seemed like she flung her wine glass where it shattered and glass was flying everywhere, with several chunks coming our way. We had just gotten our meal, and with no questions asked, the bartender saw what happened and took our meal right back to the kitchen for a fresh one, just in case of glass. He also dumped out my roommate's wine and poured her a brand new one as well. She was pretty positive she didn't see glass in her wine, and tried to let him know the wine was probably okay, but he still got her a new one anyways.
I will definitely be coming here more frequently. I'd love to try more dishes, especially some seafood ones. Amazing place and super...
Read moreIf I could give it a negative star I would. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and I should’ve known when I got a soda that was FLAT and warm we should’ve left. We waited over 10 minutes for our waiter to come take our order for drinks, the bread was brought to us it was cold bread with cold butter how is that even spreadable? We got the calamari for appetizer we ate some and picked up one from the bottom and It was soggy then realized majority of it was soggy so we barely ate. We got the wedding soup that we didn’t even know we were getting which the owner says everyone loves and that was absolutely from a can. The food was just not good at all!! Our waiter was not the best either. we barely ate the entree just picked at it and my boyfriend asked for the check, when our waiter asked if we wanted to box it up we said no and he asked why and we said the food just isn’t good. He gave my boyfriend the check and left, my boyfriend put his card with the check and we were waiting for him to take it. Except the owner came over and asked why we didn’t like the food and we told her that it wasn’t good she proceed to list what we got and said none of it was good? NOPE. She said not even the soup? Which we didn’t even know we were getting, she said everyone raved about it (everyone has different taste and they lied). Anyways my boyfriend was like I just want to pay and leave and she said nope I’m not going to charge anyone who doesn’t like my food and I only charge people who like it very loudly drawing attention which honestly made it seem like we didn’t want to pay which we were more than fine paying. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable to be treated like that when everyone is entitled to an opinion I didn’t like the food but I am going to pay. So to sum up I’ll never go there again my stomach started to hurt when I was there and the service...
Read moreThe good The food portions are enormous. If you like large portions you will love this place The owner listened and made things right after bad communications with the waiter and a lot of confusion. The menus did not explain any of this.
The Bad Waiter could not easily explain their way of serving meals that was very confusing and it was not explained in their printed menu either. He seemed more concerned about telling me their rules. instead of looking to understand me and satisfy me.
2, What they call a cavatelli is not what I have seen anywhere on this planet. It was gooey unshaped pasta just cut to help the kitchen move quicker I guess.
What to know before you order....
Their entrees come with penne, soup, salad, vegetable and mashed potatoes whether you want them or not. All the sides were served family style so you could not do any plate specific substitutions. The dinners were not served family style. If you wanted something different for sides you had to order it as an add on. So no substitutions! So if I didn't want vegetables, mash potatoes you cant change it you just get it and that's it. Hmmmm...
If you don't like a lot of sauce let them know beforehand. otherwise your meal will be swimming in it.
For the price I expected better. If I go again I will ask the owner to serve me. She was kind and tried to...
