Denny's — Restaurant in West Haven

We had breakfast at Denny's about 11:0am Thursday the 4th. First we were seated right away we got our coffee right away. Or we ordered two coffees and a Diet Coke toast a Crepes breakfast and a basic slam it took forever for our food to come out when it did it was cold they did not refill our coffee and when we asked them to she told me she was on break. Then the next thing, we had to grab the attention of the waitress that was doing nothing, in order to get a Diet Coke and our coffees refilled. We had to ask for her to bring us some more cream and sugar, there were two waitresses and one of them when I said something about because I used to work at this Denny's that the crates were not made right she told me yesterday where we don't put that on them. Oh now the best part to check out okay there was a gentleman walking up to check out same time we did there was a gentleman waiting to get checked out he was standing there for 10 minutes and still no one had come up front also my man was standing in line and he finally went back there and had to get them to come up front and they asked why is there people up there? He said yes that's why I'm coming to get you guys to stop talking and come up here and check your customers out. There was a trucker waiting he was late for his appointment to leave on time, I was waiting and I had to go back and get them and then they were actually rude to us about having to come and get them and interrupting their talking session. We're from Arizona and we have eaten at the Denny's and I used to work at this Denny's you guys need to do something and something fast hire new freaking caring management because if it's still Brenda it's no wonder none of the waitresses give two there were literally four tables. We will never come back and we will make sure that this review goes a lot of places we at least should have had our meal comped. Especially when it comes to a order of toast my sister waited for 20 minutes for toast and when we said something to the lady she said well I'm on break the other waitresses bringing it I am we were like it's toast how hard is it to make toast. Neither waitress was wearing a name tag either so that is also not fair because we don't know who to complain about but you should go I should know who's working this...

I am an OTR truck driver, so I go to many different restaurants and other business establishments across the country. Yesterday evening(05 October 2020) my wife and I chose to stay at the Flying J as we had an early morning delivery in Clearfield, UT. When we arrived my wife said she'd like to eat at Denny's, and as we'd had good experiences at most of the Denny's I didn't object... I wish I had... When we came in the young lady was too busy visiting with friends to even seat us, another girl came in from outside and seated us. Once we were seated our server came over and took our drink order, then about 10 minutes later came back over and took our food order... About 20 minutes after taking our food order she brought our food, then we reminded her about our drinks.... All told it took about 30 to 45 minutes to even get our drinks. My wife and I were not the only ones to have issues with the service... One gentleman had to have his order redone three times, another couple had to actually go to the kitchen to request to-go boxes... Our waitress complained that they were just too busy... We found this to be comical considering there were only 4 or 5 tables occupied in the whole place, not to mention the fact was that the staff was spending all their time hanging out in the kitchen chatting and joking. I really doubt my wife and I will ever go to this Denny's. Oh yeah, I observed at least 4 ladies working the floor plus the people in the kitchen. There was only one person who was truly helpful, and I wish I had her name, I'd like to give credit where...

Been here multiple times at 2am on bother Friday and Saturday nights. Everytime it's been an hour plus wait for food. Last night was the last straw. I get there after a few friends got there an HOUR before me. Of course still waiting for their food. Took the waitress multiple walk by and checking in on us to ask what would you like. Mind you, friends still don't have food. I give her my order. My food was the first to come out. My friends waited 2 hours for their food. Another customer from across the restaurant kept requesting a tortilla for 45 min. My friends chicken strip finally made it out and over cooked. The waitress kept consistently forgetting everyone's requests and food. Additionally so many people could have walked out without paying because she didn't ask if we wanted our tickets. Some people walked away leaving only a $20 on the table without the receipt so who knows where that went. I left my money on the table with the ticket just so I didn't have to wait for her to ring me up. We had 4 additional people show up and they left because the wait for food was so long. If there were more options for late night eating definitely would choose somewhere else to go. Due to tradition we kept going and even supported a waitress who use to work for you because she was the hardest working one there, even though food was still late. I do not know what is going on but the absolute worst service for some time...
