Our server, with a smile as smooth as the guacamole, failed to mention the automatic 20% gratuity charge already tacked onto the bill. It’s a clever little trick, one that preys on those who struggle with the language or the fine print on a receipt.

You see, this isn’t just a one-time slip; it’s a pattern. Patrons unknowingly leave an extra 20%, thinking they’re simply being generous. The server doesn’t provide a detailed receipt, just a piece of paper to sign, ensuring you miss the sneaky charge. I know this because it happened to me and to others I’ve spoken with.

El Rincón Peruano, you have a gem of a kitchen, but this underhanded tactic leaves a bad taste. Here’s my advice: Enjoy the food, but scrutinize your receipt. Don’t let a superb meal be tainted by dishonesty.

I’ve been going to this place since opening. Food is so much better now. If you want to know the best dishes, here you go: -Lomo saltado (meet sautéed with onions,tomato and cilantro, served with white rice and french fries) -Arroz verde con pato o pollo (rice cook in a cilantro based seasoning served with duck or chicken ) -Tallarines verdes con bistec ( Spaghettis with pesto made with basil and spinach, served with a giant steak ) -Arroz Chaufa (fried rice Peruvian-Chinese style, you can choose chicken, meat or seafood) -Arroz con Mariscos (seafood rice very similar like risotto) -Leche de Tigre/ceviche (Fish cook in lime with cilantro , ginger , celery and onions ) -Jalea ( fried seafood mix) This place works as sports bar and regular bar after 7pm , so if you going with your family, I recommend the back salon and also before 5pm. No delivery , but pick up available...

Bad experience. When I saw the price of the 4 stuff that I got I couldn’t believe it. $175! I went back to the restaurant to figure out why it was so expensive and the server told me that the tip was already included, $26, they also charged me a fee to use my card. But I also left tips on the table because she did y tell me before that the tip wasn’t included in the bill. I asked the server for the tip back and she said that another lady that was cleaning the table took it and she doesn’t know anything else about that.
