My daughter, granddaughter and I were here this morning May the 4th----be with you, we didn't get to stay and eat due to personal emergency, but, Prospect staff was, so understanding and amazing , and we are planning a trip back soon because-- ❤️ it's clean and friendly and we very much want to add stickers to the bathroom wall---- with your permission of course. I highly recommend the scrapple .

I had a Omelette with bacon, tomato, mushroom and spinach w/swiss cheese (from the "specials" menu) for $9.90. It looked so good when it arrived that I took a picture. This is my third time here--the food truly IS exceptional. I wish I could cook like this. Friendly staff and customers. Nice place.

I adored breakfast here. Total old school diner with diner favorites. Tons of items with sausage gravy and chipped beef gravy if you're into that. Big portions and great prices. I thought one of the coolest things was that they just have this great hodge podge of mugs! No one gets the same one!

Lol. Where do I start. Bad service all around, and I’m only writing this review for the sake of others not wasting their money on this establishment. The server Cheryl is very dismissive and knows nothing about the menu. She argued with us about what we “really wanted” on our food, and confused our orders 3 times and then blamed it on us that we had confusing orders. No Cheryl, you are the one that is confused. The servers shout back and forth to each other and to other customers instead of walking the 10 feet to them and using adult inside voices. The way they behaved was almost comical, and fortunately for them the regulars seem to enjoy this drama that fills their mundane diner-regular lives. As someone who wants a regular breakfast, shouting across the restaurant for every little thing is not normal behavior. The servers were also eating in front of guests at the bar top, and heating food in a microwave essentially right next to a place setting. This is a food violation. As for the servers attitudes, i get it-you work in a diner and you hate your life. I also once worked in a restaurant and hated it, but I still treated customers with respect and did not do whatever I wanted and said whatever I wanted. A server then stood up on a bar stool right next to a guest and attempted to stop a ceiling leak with duct tape, another food violation. Also a dumb idea as the adhesive will not stick if it’s wet. Besides all of these violations, the food was not great and the potatoes were mushy and looked like they had been prepped earlier and sat in the bottom of a stock pot.. If we hadn’t already ordered drinks, we would have left before the food was ordered. Lancaster is known for some really good food, but this does not live up to that reputation. This is a grimy little diner, not the nostalgic small town treasure you are looking for. At checkout Cheryl confused my order 3 more times about what I should be charged for. I ordered one meal with a glass of water. No substitutions, no additions, just an eggs Benedict and water. Cheryl could not get this simple check written up, and couldn’t remember what she herself even served me. They really should rename this place the twilight zone diner because I have never in my life had such a strange and bizarre...

Terrible service! My daughter accidentally spilled her chocolate milk and the lady forgot to bring my wife's French toast out. Then when it did come out when we were about to leave it wasn't even hot. When we got the bill I asked if we would be getting charged for the spilled chocolate milk and or the Forgotten French toast and she said that it was our accident so yes we will be paying for two chocolate milks. Then another lady came from the back and said you guys accidentally spilled the chocolate milk just like she accidentally forgot your French toes so you guys are going to pay for that too. And we explained that we didn't feel that was right to pay for the French toast that was forgotten and cold and that that has never happened to us before and the lady said will today's your lucky day because you're paying for it today. I also added up the bill when I first got it and it came to $16.50, when we took it up to the lady it came up to $21.98 because she said she forgot to write two or three things on the bill. We said I cannot believe the way you are treating us and talking to us I don't know if we will be returning and the whole time we were talking she just kept saying bye bye bye don't come back we don't need stupid people like you in our restaurant and then came running out the front door when we left saying we were terrible parents for acting like that in front of our kids when we were simply trying to figure out why we were getting charged for everything we did. If my wife hadn't already given her my card I would have been walking out without paying for any of it but she had just got done swiping my card. I am hoping to get in contact with the manager or the owner and having a conversation with them about this. I am really hoping that neither one of them was a manager the way they were...

I've been eatting here for about 2 to 3 years. For some reason with the last two visits I've been given overlycook/burnt home fries that were previous day lefted-overs. The saturday before last I specifically said I wanted FRESH home fries not heated up lefted-overs. They made sure they were fresh and barely cooked. I didn't say anything. This past Saturday (7/16) I was given, Yet AGAIN, overly-cooked flat-out BURNT lefted-overs. I know they were lefted-overs because the waitress brought me eggs and pancakes and I said "I ordered home fries". She took the plate, went in the back and in 7 seconds came back with overly-cooked burnt home-fries. So if she didn't get my order of home fries that means those fries she brought me in 7 seconds were sitting on the side, burnt. I didn't say anything and decided I won't be coming back. So long Prospect Diner. It was fun while it lasted it. Its really sad how businesses treat regular customers who they think will eat anything. I'd really hate to say she did this because I'm black but I'm starting to think that...
